Last week has been a lot about the April Live Period and players to watch heading into the first viewing period of the year. Before that, we had the start of the grassroots season, and before that, we had the wrap-up of the high school season. There are a handful of players I'd like to highlight now that the dust has settled on the live period and we have some time before another grassroots event in Wisconsin. That said, let's start catching up and highlighting some prospects who more than deserve some shine.

There aren't many post players who buy into playing in the paint as early as Peterson has. The Brookfield Academy product had a solid sophomore campaign this past season. After seeing her play twice, I left impressed. The lefty showed she can play through contact and finish around the rim. However, I loved that she could contribute to a press break and make good reads with the ball.

The Waterford post was a double-double threat every time she stepped on the floor in her first high school season. Milosh is a physical kid who is willing to compete with players four years older than her, and not back down physically, which says a lot about her as a competitor. She's willing to do a lot of dirty work around the basket and should continue to round out her game over the next few years.

The Eau Claire native carved out a role for herself on a competitive Old Abes group that was good enough to make a run when healthy. She is a solid ball handler who takes care of the ball when it's in her hands. However, she thrived in an off-ball role by spacing the floor and knocking down open shots when her defender would help off her. Hoitomt could continue to grow in that role and be a successful off-ball player at the next level.

It's hard not to love what Cham brings to the floor. She is a raw talent, with maybe more room to grow than anyone in her class. However, I always say it, when you play hard, a lot of other things in your game that may not be where you want them to be can be glossed over, and that applies to Cham more than anyone. She has the talent to grow as she gets used to playing at this level. Cham is a player who could surprise people, earn looks from programs that you may not expect, and carve out a role earlier than you'd think. Maybe more than anyone, I'm eager to see how Cham's game grows, and how she can find more ways to impact winning at La Follette, with [program_tooltip program_id='1230720' first='Team' last='Herro'], and beyond.
