Last week has been a lot about the April Live Period and players to watch heading into the first viewing period of the year. Before that, we had the start of the grassroots season, and before that, we had the wrap-up of the high school season. There are a handful of players I'd like to highlight now that the dust has settled on the live period and we have some time before another grassroots event in Wisconsin. That said, let's start catching up and highlighting some prospects who more than deserve some shine.

The McFarland guard is among the most talented kids in the 2029 class around the state. Charbonneau is an athletic guard who can impact the game on both ends of the floor. I thought she did a solid job as the primary creator for the Spartans this past high school season and should be in a spot to thrive with the [program_tooltip program_id='713045' first='Wisconsin' last='Lakers'] this coming spring and summer, playing UAA basketball. She will be fun to see develop and add to her game over the next few years.

The Burlington guard wasn't playing for a traditional power this past high school season, but she impressed me in the game I saw. Schmidt scored 40 points, not just the focal point of her team's offense, but the entire thing. Schmidt showed she could create space and score when five sets of eyes shifted to her when the ball was in her hands. She has the tools to play at the next level somewhere.

I made quite the drive to see Drazkowski in person this past high school season, and she was impressive. The 5-10 wing had to handle the ball and create with the ball in her hands almost every time down the floor, which she wouldn't have to do at the next level. However, she showed she was capable of making things happen with the ball in her hands. She also has the athletic tools to be an intriguing defensive prospect.

Watching Schwem's game back on stream is one of the most entertaining things for me. She plays high school basketball, knowing she's significantly more athletic than everyone else on the floor, and plays accordingly. Granted, she's not playing against the top talent in Wisconsin at Viroqua, but the athletic tools are real. She can be a handful on both ends of the floor at the next level, and there is still plenty of room for her to grow as a player.
