Meg Allbee Meg Allbee 5'9" | PG Vermont Academy | 2027 NewE , 5’8 G – Vermont Academy Class of 2027
Meg took NEPSAC Class D by storm. She led Vermont Academy to a #4 seed with her ability to orchestrate the show, create offense with her slashing and transition play, and muscle up defensively. She posted numerous double-doubles with her high rebounding totals, defense-to-offense ability, and playmaking as the lead guard. Tough, about her business, and a winner.
Mesa Long, 5’11 F – Mount Mansfield Union H.S. Class of 2027
Mesa stepped into the starting role on Varsity and got right to it. Long must’ve posted a near double-double on the season with her relentless two-way rebounding, put backs, and solid post feel as a scorer and passer. The combo of her anticipation and her ceaseless motor coalesced into tough post D, sound protection of the 2nd layer, and clean glass on the defensive end. A sheer force inside.
Anya Davis, 5’6 G – Colchester H.S. Class of 2027
One of the more hardnosed, downhill type guards in here is Anya. Davis is two-way tough, using her strength and agility to get physical on her drives, handle ball pressure, and scrap for loose balls. She’s a highly competent PG who reads the D well, hits players in their shooting pocket, and facilitates the show. Defensively it’s good ball pressure as she keeps players in front, can rebound a bit, and will hustle for everything. Rugged.
Mae Yenkavitch, 5’9 G – Burlington H.S. Class of 2027
I like the evolution I’ve seen of Mae’s game. Yenkavitch was slotted into a 2-guard role this year and she adapted by improving her outside jumper off the catch as she spent more time off the ball than accustomed to. Mae is a natural orchestrator and tough slasher, but she eased right in. The defensive activity with her height, length, and hustle was quick to note too. Athletic, heady, and aggressive.
Kelsie Rivard, 5’9 G/W – Hazen Union H.S. Class of 2027
There isn’t a thing that Kelsie doesn’t do on the court. Rivard affects every play, whether she’s hawking ballhandlers, jumping passes, rotating to cut off drives, snatching boards, or making plays on the other end. She can handle the rock a bit and distributes intuitively, the jumper off the catch is fluid and confident, and she showed herself to be a talented inside scorer with her touch around the rim. High ceiling with her strong frame and fluid footwork.
Emma Maley, 5’7 G – Burlington H.S. Class of 2027
The offensive weapon sharpened her defensive instincts throughout the winter. Maley flashed the scoring potential with her 3pt shooting, finding the look often off of multiple screens or off the bounce once in a while. In addition, her passing instincts and timing sharpened, greasing the offensive attack. Defensively smart, the rotations are all there and her length on the perimeter causes disruption. Emma is coming into her own.
Colleen Sonnick, 5’11 W/F – Essex H.S. Class of 2027
One of the more unique talents in the class of 2027 is Sonnick. Colleen serves as a forward defensively with her size and rebounding ability, yet she has shown some good perimeter footwork too. But offensively it gets interesting. The southpaw tends to float to the perimeter where she can shoot the jumper, put it on the floor and pull-up, or work the rock and move off ball. The modern forward.
Mya Lumsden, 5’7 G – Hazen Union H.S. Class of 2027
The PG for the D3 Champs got comfy at the helm. Mya had the fortune of playing alongside an all-state guard who could take the load off when necessary. But when I watched Lumsden in the Final, she was ready for it. Mya takes care of the ball, organizes the offense well, hits open 3s, and has shown some craft in the 2nd layer as a scorer and distributor. Mix in her length, wit, and acumen defensively too; she’s tough.
Abby Nystrom, 5’5 G – Bellows Falls Union H.S. Class of 2027
A spritely small-town guard to get on your radar is Abby Nystrom. She’s shown herself to be a reliable PG who will create offense off the bounce as a 2-level scorer or as someone who can manipulate defenses as the set unfolds. Moreover, Abby’s displayed a sound scoring touch in transition, using her defensive disruption to generate some of that open court offense. Smart, scrappy, and a gamer.
Emma Harrison, 5’6 G – BFA St. Albans Class of 2027
Emma broke into the BFA rotation relatively early and for good reason. Harrison is one who takes care of the ball, makes good reads as a ball mover, and she also showcased her scoring touch from 3 and within the 2nd layer to bolster the BFA O. She moves well in the fullcourt press, and those rotational schemes carried over well into the halfcourt. Steady and dependable, she’s one to keep tabs on.
