In this article we highlight five available Guards from this Class, who could do some impressive things on the hardwood once their high school career’s finish off.
Thanks for tuning in and enjoy!
Starting us off in this article is a prospect that has a solid game from the Guard position with some nice size and wherewithal on the basketball court. The prospects that I am speaking about is Kennedy Goodheart Kennedy Goodheart 5’9″ | SG Liberty | 2026 State IA of IC Liberty High School. Goodheart is a special talent. She has size at 5’10-5’11 and she is a lethal scoring threat on the court. She has the ability to score while going to the rim once she gets down hill or she can step out and kick down some shots from deep when someone around her creates off of the dribble. Going into this past high school season, Goodheart has interested from a handful of D1 programs. I think that interest is going to stay consistent moving forward as long as she continues to produce. Her raw ability is evident. As long as she continues to understand situational basketball, she is going to shine when the lights are the brightest.

Sacha Alesch Sacha Alesch 5’6″ | SG Bishop Garrigan | 2026 State IA is one of this 2026 Classes premier shooters. When you sit down to watch Alesch, you can tell almost right away that she is VERY comfortable with letting it go from anywhere over the half court line. If there is any opponent that doesn’t tag her as a shooter right away, it’s usually going to be a long day for that matchup because of how deadly she is from deep. Another ability that she has is the ability to put the ball on the floor at an elite rate, meaning that she can really handle. If someone wants to overplay her on a shot, she can blow by them for her patented floater or running near the basket. Alesch is going to do big things down the line. If she gets a chance and is set up for success by her team’s offense and the surrounding coaching staff, she could have a collegiate career to remember. She just needs a chance and she will show you what she is worth. I guarantee it.

Someone that everyone knows about at this point out of this Class, who is coming off of a year of injury is Madden Wilson Madden Wilson 5’6″ | PG Xavier | 2026 State IA . Wilson is one of this states best prospects, that isn’t getting a ton of love because she didn’t really play this past year due to injury. As a potential prospect, Wilson checks A LOT of boxes that colligate recruiters have. She can handle and run her teams offense at a consistent rate, she can score from all three levels, she can create for the others around her off of the catch or dribble, and she can make a difference with her hard-nosed defense. More times than now, she is making a big play for whatever team she is lacing up with. Whether that’s on the high school floor or the AAU floor. I’m excited to see what she will be able to do over the next few months. She is one of the most complete Guards out of this 2026 Class, she just needs to go out and continue to prove it.

A breakout athlete that this past high school season, that helped her team bring home a State Title is Lena Evans Lena Evans 5’7″ | SG Clear Creek Amana | 2026 State IA . Evans is a quick moving and fast thinking prospect, that has an edge to her. She isn’t afraid to get physical or mix it up with anyone that maybe bigger, while understanding that she needs to pick her spots when she is attacking or defending certain individuals. This past few months, Evans showed that she is going to be someone to know these next two years. She will start for CCA High School during the 2024-2025 season and I’m sure she is going to show out in a big way. She had limited minutes this past season with the roster that the Clippers possessed but that will all change over this next 6-8 months. If she can stay confident in her ability, she is going to shine, whenever she takes the floor and I can’t wait to see that live in-person throughout the rest of her career.
Reagan Schulte Reagan Schulte 5’11” | SG Cedar Rapids-Prairie | 2026 State IA is an individual that I need to see more of but from what I’ve seen, she has the combination of height and skill that college coaches love to see. Schulte is around 5’11 with a nasty shooting stroke from deep. She is a Shooting Guard, that lives up to her positions name. She is versatile in her play style and agile in all of her movements. This AAU season she will be competing with her Team Iowa program out of Cedar Rapids. If she can string together a nice AAU season and that leads into a nice high school year to follow, her recruitment will definitely pick up. I’m not sure who has reached out at this point but if she trusts the process, it’s all in due time.
