When you sit down to watch Alesch, you can tell almost right away that she is VERY comfortable with letting it go from anywhere over the half court line. If there is any opponent that doesn’t tag her as a shooter right away, it’s usually going to be a long day for that matchup because of how deadly she is from deep. Another ability that she has is the ability to put the ball on the floor at an elite rate, meaning that she can really handle. If someone wants to overplay her on a shot, she can blow by them for her patented floater or running near the basket. Alesch is going to do big things down the line. If she gets a chance and is set up for success by her team’s offense and the surrounding coaching staff, she could have a collegiate career to remember. She just needs a chance and she will show you what she is worth. I guarantee it.

Alesch only stands at 5’6 but she is a Shooting Guard that you can’t give any space to over half-court because if you do, she is going to shoot it and most likely make it. Alesch is the type of shooter that is good on any type of court, off of both the catch AND the dribble. There isn’t ever a moment that she isn’t ready to let it fly from deep and she has the ability to take her defender off the dribble as well, if they tend to over-play her shooting stroke. This season will be interesting at Bishop Garrigan as they will need to find a new identity from seasons past with the roster that they have returning this winter. If they stay locked in after coming off of a State Championship and Alesch takes care of business per usual, this team is going to be one to be aware of come playoff time once again.

It doesn’t matter if she is pulling up from 5 feet behind the 3 point line or if she is taking it all the way to the rack, she is going to get wherever she wants to go and in a hurry. When you hear about a player like this the imagination starters to take you places but I think the best way to describe Alesch’s game is as crafty and effective. She makes good choices a majority of the time with the ball in her hands and can really cause some havoc on the defensive side of things with her active hands and knowledge of the game. At Bishop Garrigan high school this winter Alesch will be a big part of this programs rebuild. She is the type of player that can be counted on each game to produce but to what extent? We will have to wait and find out.
