Continue ReadingStarted the game vs Lady Attacking going right at the rim. When she doesn’t settle for threes, and attacks the rim, she’s a different player. Had a really nice offensive game.
When she came in the game and guarded Hankerson it changed the energy of the game. Is a next level on the ball defender. Offensively, got out in transition and had a few acrobatic finishes. Next level athlete. Really gets down hill hard. Knows how to “get skinny” and slither through tight spaces. Continue to be so impressed with her game.
Half the game is played on defense. As a writer….that’s easy to focus on…and let’s face it….simply writing “she’s really good at defense” doesn’t get a lot of clicks. But, if you want the truth. It’s what college coaches care about! And Mackenna Nix has turned herself into a next level defender. She held a Power 5 kid to 4 points last night, and carried that momentum over into today. Battles on the glass. Creates extra possesions on the offensive glass. Hit a HUGE 3 with 5:00 left to extend ETAs lead to 13. When she’s hitting the 3….she really levels up with her potential to impact games at the college level on both sides of the ball.
Played really well. Showed off the 3 ball. Attacked in the half court and got to a nice spin move back to her left hand. She’s been impressive all tournament long. Showed off her passing with a nice no look on the backdoor to Jenna Johnson Jenna Johnson 5’11” | C Oak Ridge | 2025 State TN . Really fun to watch her play with Jordan White Jordan White 5’4″ | PG Northview Academy | 2025 State TN . Hit White on a backdoor who then hit Wade on the cut for a layup. Having two high level passers on the floor is really fun to watch.

Had 19 last night, and kept it rolling. Attacks the rim well. Showed off the floater and power finishes through contact. Really impressive passing ability out of the double when then posted her up. Hit the three with confidence. Love her game.
Makes her presence know. I thought played really tough…hit hard on box out. Moved her feet well on D. Challenged shots in the paint. Finished well at the rim. Cloey Wade Cloey Wade 6’0″ | C South-Doyle | 2025 State TN is legit underrated. They play her primarily on the perimeter and she’s an excellent cutter that knows how and when to flash into space. Runs really hard in transition b/c she has guards that WANT to find her
I always love to watch this kid play. She’s a 5/5/5 kid every night (at least 5 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists), and that is something so few kids can do. I know she gets constant praise for her passing, but it’s her rebound that really impresses me. She’s that Jason Kidd type of PG that will give you some of everything (kids…Google him…if you want to play the PG position well). Really fun to watch her play with Addison Howard. Hit White on a backdoor who then hit Wade on the cut for a layup. Having two high level passers on the floor is really fun to watch.

Strong bodied guard. Realy trouble when she gets out in transition. Attacked the rim hard in the half court and finished with a left scoop! Tough! Fights on D, and battles on the glass. I really like this kid.

Has been a double double machine this tourney. She’s so active on both sides of the ball. Great cutter and finisher around the rim. Rebounds the heck out of the ball. Doesn’t do any one thing at an elite level except for energy and effort…and those ARE SKILLS that elevate the rest of her game. When you do EVERYTHING as hard as you can…good stuff tends to happen.
