Brooklyn Love Brooklyn Love 5'5" | PG Dominican | 2026 State WI
The Dominican guard is as quick as most players in Romeoville. She did an excellent job finding ways to beat her defender off the dribble and creating numerical advantages attacking the rim. She’s probably more of a scoring guard than a creator, but she does both. There are games where Love finds a groove and helps her teams win games people don’t think they should, like in Dominican’s Regional Title Game against Oostburg. She’s as talented as any lead guard in her class and has the physical tools to take games over on the right day.
Princess Nwachukwu Princess Nwachukwu 5'11" | C Vel Phillips Memorial | 2025 State WI
I hadn’t seen Nwachukwu since last November, and I was impressed by her ability to dominate with both feet in the paint. She’s as physical as any post and quicker than any post player I know about in Wisconsin. Once she catches the ball, she powers through contact so quickly other defenders don’t have the time to brace for the impact that comes with defending her in the paint. Sometimes, she can be out of control and try to put the ball on the rim too quickly, but that can work itself out over time. There’s plenty to love about what she does, and she has plenty of room to develop her skills and become a scholarship-level post-player.
Aubrey Galvan Aubrey Galvan 5'7" | PG Loyola Academy | 2025 State IL
I’m sure there isn’t much about Galvan left to be said. She’s as entertaining as anyone you’ll ever watch, and everything she does isn’t anything out of character for her. That’s how she plays each time she picks up a basketball. All the flash she plays with is natural and comes in the flow of a game. Basketball is like art in that it requires imagination and creativity. In Galvan’s case, she has one of the most creative and imaginative minds you’ll ever see on a basketball court. However, she isn’t someone who only knows how to play with the ball in her hands. She’s a pesky defender who can get her hands on the ball at any time, constantly moving away from the ball offensively, and has arguably the best vision I’ve seen in a guard.
Gina Davorija Gina Davorija 5'9" | CG Glenbrook South | 2025 State IL
The older Davorija sister is probably the most productive off-ball guard I saw last weekend in Romeoville. Playing with Galvan gets the most out of her, and Galvan playing with Davorija gets the most out of her. They’re a perfect pairing. Davorija excels at attacking and recovering defenses off the catch, and she can blow by most defenders who close out on her. She’s also got an excellent jumper. The Glenbrook South wing’s length also allows shoot over any defender who doesn’t close out well enough. I don’t think I’ve seen a more perfect complimentary piece to have next to an elite guard.
