This event is our only Spring AAU event held in Iowa for the 2024 AAU season and I’m very excited to be providing evaluations/coverage. In this article I highlight five prospects I am excited to see over the next few days while doing my thing. Each player is someone that I’ve seen compete in the past and they have impressed so I can’t wait to see what they bring to the table over these next three days.
Thanks for tuning in and enjoy!
Last season I had the chance to sit down at this same event and watch a handful of talented prospects do their thing. One of those players was Zoe Allen Zoe Allen 6’1″ | PF Williamsburg | 2026 State IA of Williamsburg High School and I’m hoping to see her compete again over these next few days. Allen is someone that is playing up a grade level because of her mixture of size and wherewithal on the hardwood. She is solid on both sides of the floor and a difference-maker in every definition of the phrase. She can control the paint with her long arms and athletic ability defensively or she can score in both the half court and full court near the rim on offense. If her team continues to get her looks with her back to the basket and some time, I’m sure she is going to have a great weekend overall.

Addie Naughton Addie Naughton 5’7″ | SG Council Bluffs Abraham Lincoln | 2026 State IA is going to come into this weekend hungry and ready to roll. She is a Guard, that can move between the 1 and 2 position on the floor but her best ability is when she has the ball in her hands coming down the floor. This past high school season Naughton was an all conference honorable mention and she is looking to build on that moving forward. She is someone that can make plays coming down the stretch for whatever team she is on and I’m looking forward on seeing that this weekend. If she can lock in and do her usual thing out on there, her team is going to win a majority of their contests over the next few days. She just needs to come prepared and it will be downhill from there.

I’ve watched Laynee Hogan Laynee Hogan 5’9″ | PG East Buchanan | 2025 State IA the past few years and she will be competing in this event with her Iowa Prep 2025 team once again this weekend. Hogan can be a game changer. She impacts play on both sides of the floor with her smooth passing and knowledge of situational basketball more times than not. This weekend it’s all about her efficiency. I need to see that she can perform the same way the entire weekend. If she can do that, I think there are going to be a handful of coaches there that would be willing to talk to her about her collegiate future. Her raw skill and talent level are there to compete at the next level, it all comes down to being consistent with things overall. Something that I know is more than possible for someone with the talent level Hogan possesses.

I don’t see too much of Josie Kuper Josie Kuper 6’2″ | C AGWSR | 2025 State IA throughout the high school season but when I do, it is impressive. Kuper is a prospect that may be the tallest, if not one of the tallest competing in this event this weekend. She stands right around 6’2-6’3 and she uses that size to her advantage whenever the opportunity presents itself. This weekend she will be competing with her Iowa Prep 2025 Red team, looking to make some noise. If she continues to use her size to her advantage and she demonstrates that she can make efficient passes out of the post, she is going to thrive and be a top performer at least once this weekend, as things move forward.

Kreighton Peck Kreighton Peck 5’6″ | CG East Buchanan | 2026 State IA is a dawg. Someone that works hard on both ends of the floor, never taking a play or possession off. She has a sneaky ability to beat her opponents off the dribble consistently and that has been on full display a good amount this AAU season already. She has displayed that she is a relentless worker in any sport she is competing in, while showing a ton of promise. If she ends up beating her opponent into the lane, she can score with a nice finish at the rim, a floater in the midrange, or a pull up. Not to mention that she is a willing and able passer whenever someone else becomes open as a play unfolds. Peck is someone that should have some interest as she gets older to compete in a few sports at the next level by the looks of it. She is a solid player, that also is pretty good on the track field as well. So at the end of the day, I wouldn’t be shocked if she ended up competing in both at the next level in some form.
