How do you think your team and yourself performed throughout this season?rn-We had slower start to the year than we wanted. We play in a tough league and had some major ups and downs throughout the season. With having a small program that’s building, we have a lot of young and inexperienced players that made for some difficult growing pains. I felt that we got better and better through the season putting together some really nice wins in the second half that led us into a very strong finish in the playoffs even though we fell short of some goals.
What was the biggest obstacle you and your team faced this season?rn-Having a small program and smaller team with so many players that swing, we relied a lot on younger players and regardless of talent, eventually young players can hit a wall. Everyone was exhausted with the tough season and at times losing motivation so the inexperience made it tough to find momentum at times in the middle of the season. For me personally, our starting point guard moved in the off-season which put me into a position I had never really played before and into a role of higher importance. I was pushed into a bigger position of leadership as a point guard at times and in our league, it never felt like there was an easy night.
What do you think you improved most on the court?rn-I improved most in playing in more of a leadership role knowing at times I had to carry a heavy load. Being put into that role, I improved a lot in seeing the team as a whole and understanding how to help our team function as a unit. I think my basketball IQ grew a lot this season.
What are you looking to improve before next season?rn-Definitely the mental side of the game. As a freshman, I was put into a large role as a leader on the floor. As I mentioned, sometimes you hit that freshman wall. Knowing that next year my role will be even more significant, I want to work on my mental toughness and being able to push myself even harder when things are tough or my team is going through a rough patch. I want to be that leader my team needs.
Who are some teammates that you think stood out this season? Who are some teammates who could have breakout years next year in your eyes?rn- Lola Woodburn Lola Woodburn 5’6″ | PG Puyallup | 2025 WA was always a positive force on the floor. Having her around to pick her teammates up was huge, not to mention how hard she works and her willingness to sacrifice her body for the team. Playing with my big sister, Maddy, was a huge blessing and a lot of fun. She was her usual self, getting double-doubles every night and extremely reliable.
My freshman teammate, Adriana Adams, is right there as next up. With her extreme level of athleticism, I feel like she is on the cusp of a huge breakthrough and if she continues to work hard throughout the offseason, I think she could have a breakout year for us.

How do you think your team and yourself performed throughout this season?rn-I think I performed well but not to my full capability, and I believe my team definitely could have gone much further with more drive and want I feel like there is a lot of only wanting to play in high school thoughts around basketball right now and that drives people to not have the want to play and come back, work hard to win a game.
What was the biggest obstacle you and your team faced this season?rn-Probably not having that drive. I feel like we had such talented players, people who could score and defend amazingly. But no execution really hurt us.
What do you think you improved most on the court?rn-I improved my communication this year and court awareness, seeing my teammates and giving up a good shot for a great shot.rnWhat are you looking to improve before next season?rnBall handling and 3 point shooting.
Who are some teammates that you think stood out this season? Who are some teammates who could have breakout years next year in your eyes? rn-A player who stood out was Mallory, she and I were out posts and she just has such a competitive heart and grit like none other willing to work through anything and everything such a blessing to play with. I definitely think Abbey White will have a breakout season this year I think she’s just going to get let loose on defense and really show how amazing of a lock down defender she is, and even I believe she will show up on offense and be one of the leading scorers this next season.

How do you think your team and yourself performed throughout this season? rn-I think my team performed pretty well this season. We weren’t expected to get to the dome but we got to the quarter finals at State. I don’t think we played as well at the Dome as we would have liked to because I know we are better than we showed. But it was a good experience for us. I had a bit of an off season and expect to play much better this summer and next year.
What was the biggest obstacle you and your team faced this season?rn-This season we were faced with a lot of change. We lost 4 talented seniors last year and had a change in the coaching staff as well. I think we adjusted to these changes well and better than anyone thought we could.
What do you think you improved most on the court? rn-I think I improved on becoming more of a team player. We learned that in order to win someone was going to have a good night but that it wouldn’t always be the same person.
What are you looking to improve before next season? rn-I’ve been working to improve my left hand ball handling and learning more ways to finish through contact around the basket. I’m also working on being more vocal on the floor.
Who are some teammates that you think stood out this season? Who are some teammates who could have breakout years next year in your eyes? rn-This year: Bailey had one of the highest 3 point shooting percentage in the state and led team in scoring as a sophomore. Adalynn Busch led the team in rebounds as a sophomore. Rylee was first team all defense as a sophomore. And it was cool to see Brooke Deyak Brooke Deyak 5’6″ | CG Tahoma | 2024 WA and Lily Cavanaugh Lily Cavanaugh 5’5″ | CG Tahoma | 2024 State WA get recognized as first team all league this season Next year: We have a lot of girls coming back and a lot of younger players who are really competitive as well. I feel like the Tahoma program is really deep and the competition to make varsity is going to be intense. I think most of our JV would play varsity at other high schools. Everyone is working hard now with their club teams to get better for next season.
How do you think your team and yourself performed throughout this season?rn-I feel like our team performed consistently, did a good job defensively and shared the ball well. We had great chemistry. I had a new role as point guard, I enjoyed being able to find my teammates to take advantage of the talent we had. One game I had 10 assists.
What was the biggest obstacle you and your team faced this season?rn-Our biggest obstacle was probably when I got hurt during districts and suddenly our team had to adjust to not having their point guard. I was out the rest of the season which was also hard for me because I hated feeling like I let them down and not being able to play at state sucks. It was what we had been working towards all season.
What do you think you improved most on the court?rn-I think I improved my court vision while playing a new position and my confidence also improved.
What are you looking to improve before next season?-Before next season I am working hard to improve my shooting and post play.
Who are some teammates that you think stood out this season? Who are some teammates who could have breakout years next year in your eyes?rn-Stand out players this year were definitely seniors- Jazmyn, Ava and Evin. They always played hard and encouraging the younger players. I think next year Sophia MacKay could have a breakout season. She was a great player off the bench this season and is a force on defense.
