Some new names emerged and familiar high school season high flyers also showed their skills on the hardwood. Here is the second group of 2026’s who earned praise for their play this weekend.
Karlie Kimerer Karlie Kimerer 5’5″ | PG Onsted | 2026 State MI , Michigan Cobras , caught my attention at the Siena Heights elite camp a couple weeks ago and she built on that momentum Saturday at the April Showers Classic. Karlie has dynamic offensive skills, driving in transition then transferring to her left hand with a high pickup move to finish at the rim. She made a gorgeous left-handed hook entry pass into the post and had me in disbelief after chucking a football style shot at the hoop from half court, which banked in to end the half. Karlie plays disciplined defense using a stable breakdown and is a complete guard prospect. (MOI Nursing)
Highlights
Emma Close Emma Close 5’7″ Wauwatosa East | 2026 State WI brought the fire from outside for Mac Irvin Lady Fire 16 Thompson on Saturday at the April Showers Classic. Emma has a quick release, catching the ball with balance and a smooth transfer. She knocked down multiple 3’s with little separation and caused deflections with her defensive effort.
Chellise Jones Chellise Jones 6’2″ | SF Whitney Young | 2026 State IL was a formidable post player for Mac Irvin Lady Fire 16U Thompson on Saturday at the April Showers Classic. At 6’2 she has the athleticism and build to impose her will inside on both ends. Chellise sealed strong for entry passes and battled to earn multiple offensive rebounds, which she converted into points. She scored on a strong finish off two feet through a foul at the rim and rejected shots in the paint on defense.
Mikaia Litza Mikaia Litza 5’8″ | CG Wauwatosa East | 2026 State WI excelled for Mac Irvin Lady Fire 16 U Thompson on both ends of the court on Saturday at the April Showers Classic. She has the length at 5’8 to shadow opposing guards, blocking shots, and making every inch a struggle for them to create open looks. Mikaia showed her strength skipping an overhead pass on a rope from wing to the opposite corner. She caught fire knocking down multiple 3’s and can create separation using a variety of crossovers.

Peyton Baer Peyton Baer 5’8″ | CG Lakeland | 2026 State MI impressed at the MAAC Scrimmages last weekend and she repeated those qualities again Sunday at the April Showers Classic. She sealed with a strong base inside, used a quick inside pivot on the catch, and transferred to her left hand to finish off the glass. Peyton demonstrated her determination by sprinting back to attempt a block at the rim in transition. She dribbled through defenders to draw the help and then dished to an open teammate inside.
Avi Skinner
Avi Skinner
Avi Skinner flashed game-breaking offensive abilities for Mystics 26 UA Rise on Sunday at the April Showers Classic. She has the versatility to score at all levels, sealing inside for an entry pass and finishing with a drop step in the paint. Avi knocked down a smooth wing 3 from the wing using a step back dribble and drove fearlessly full speed into contact on a transition layup to earn free throws. She plays with grit, crashing the boards hard for a rebound and tying up the ball as soon as her opponent secured the ball.
