This past weekend the Girls EYBL Session 2 in conjunction with the Nike Tournament of Champions Spring Classic took place at the Arizona Athletic Grounds in Mesa. There was plenty of next level talent on display from court to court.

Here I take a look at some of the standouts that I personally watched

[player_tooltip player_id='582391' first='Aila' last='Kaibara'] Phoenix Country Day ([program_tooltip program_id='715448' first='Arizona' last='Elite'] GUAA 17U)

Kaibara impressed with her playmaking skills and ability to smartly choose when to score. Her hesitation moves had the defenders guessing what she was going to do.

[player_tooltip player_id='689062' first='Morgan' last='Van Dyke'] Paradise Honors (Locked in Elite)

Van Dyke led her squad to an undefeated weekend with her outstanding play. She shot the ball well and attacked the rim with consistency.

[player_tooltip player_id='598979' first='Aspen' last='McClees'] Gilbert ([program_tooltip program_id='715448' first='Arizona' last='Elite'] GUAA 17U)

Aspen showed that she can do quite a few things on the court. She shot the ball well and defended on the wing well. Her passing was exceptional as she shared the ball beautifully.

[player_tooltip player_id='558894' first='Aiyanna' last='Perkins'] [program_tooltip program_id='713210' first='Bella' last='Vista Prep'] (Southwest Premier 17U)

Perkins was impressive the entire weekend with her overall skill. She was scoring from all three levels without forcing the issue. She played her usual stellar perimeter defense.

[player_tooltip player_id='588386' first='Caia' last='Campbell'] PHH Prep (Cali Stars 16U EYBL)

Caia ran the point well for her Stars squad, playing with good pace and getting her teammates good shots. She was able to get in the lane and facilitate very well while looking for her own offense.

[player_tooltip player_id='558898' first='Kahlia' last='Gonzales'] Mesquite (Team Arizona Red)

Gonzales played the point guard position as well as anyone that I saw at the Spring Classic. She knew when to push the tempo and she knew when to pull the ball out and set things up. She always had her head up looking for the assist.
