Region MVP

Dycus:

[player_tooltip player_id='408995' first='Reese' last='Beaty'], ‘25, York– The All-State guard turned it up a notch in the playoffs leading York deep into the postseason. She's just sensational, and has become the kind of player that knows she can drop 25-30 points if she needs to, but by nature, she's a facilitating PG that knows how to make those around her better.

Meade:

I had originally stated that when this athlete was done with high school that I would be a Clemson fan. Well, we don't know who is landing the young star, but I will definitely be a fan of [player_tooltip player_id='408995' first='Reese' last='Beaty']'s at the next level! This athlete is different! She has what it takes to be a great collegiate player!

Region Most Improved Player

Dycus:

[player_tooltip player_id='816611' first='Raylee' last='Werner'], ‘26, York– She's a do-it-all PG that impacts winning on both sides of the ball. She's one of the better on the ball defenders in her class. Offensively, she's got incredibly tight handles, throws passes on a rope, and knows who is going to be open, when, and why. Understands the game at a high level. I thought played her best basketball of the season in March, and had 18 points in their sub-state win.

Dycus Honorable Mention:

[player_tooltip player_id='746202' first='Emma' last='Cooper'], ‘26, York– The 6'1 posts really took another leap forward toward her potential this year. Defensively, she can control a game with her length and fight. Offensively, she really developed this season into a much more consistent scorer around the rim for York.

Meade:

You can't ever go wrong with picking any of the York players.

[player_tooltip player_id='409040' first='Karly' last='Ramsey'], ‘25, Smith County- The 5'6 guard may be one of the most underrated guards in the state. A physical, smart guard that has improved her play in all aspects. She has added to her high motor with being able to knock down shots consistently too!

Region Freshman of the Year

Dycus- [player_tooltip player_id='831251' first='Zoe' last='Gibson'], ‘27, York– Incredibly athletic, and is a high level scorer. Has the size and length to be a switchable defender, and really helped York on that end of the floor. Offensively, played her role well, and show flashes as a big time shot maker.

Meade:

I agree again! Gibson has great size and length at 5'10! She was an MVP in her role all season!

Region Players to Watch Next Season

[player_tooltip player_id='816715' first='Emma' last='Pile'], ‘26, York - The 2026 guard has had a great spring for [program_tooltip program_id='712979' first='TN' last='Rush'], and I'm expecting a breakout season for her!

I would keep my eyes on the youth in this region. Especially the youth at York! Smith County also has some upcoming talent to make note of!

Meade: This is an easy one for me! I loved watching and covering York! I turned the phone on to watch without reporting sometimes. An exciting team to watch!
