Region MVP

Dycus: Co-MVP: [player_tooltip player_id='810476' first='Carsyn' last='Swaney'], ‘25, Heritage & [player_tooltip player_id='409073' first='Chloe' last='Heath'], ‘25, Heritage – I actually wasted too much time trying to pick between the two, so I just gave up, spoke to “Dycus and Meade Roundtable Rules Committee” and they decided to allow Co-MVPS.

[player_tooltip player_id='810476' first='Carsyn' last='Swaney'] was a PG that did a bit of everything for them. She's was an All-State kid that has committed to MTSU. On some nights, she was by far, the best player on the floor. And that's what I loved about this Heritage team, when Swaney wasn't the best player on the floor, [player_tooltip player_id='409073' first='Chloe' last='Heath'] was. Heath exploded with some huge scoring nights, led them on the glass, and turned herself into a game changing stretch 4.

Meade:

[player_tooltip player_id='409073' first='Chloe' last='Heath'] & [player_tooltip player_id='810476' first='Carsyn' last='Swaney']. I can't dispute either because they are also my Co-MVPS!

Regions Most Improved Player:

Dycus:

[player_tooltip player_id='810656' first='Carlee' last='Lowry'], ‘25, Signal Mountain – Playing at Signal Mountain, Lowry simply wasn't covered much. But, the kid was a Miss Basketball candidate for a reason. She had already put up eight 30 point games by Christmas! She was the Chattanooga area's best player, and has improved tremendously!

Dycus Honorable Mention: [player_tooltip player_id='805473' first='Alivia' last='Hall'], ‘24, Soddy Daisy - The senior really rounded out her game this year as she became a reliable 2 level scorer, and a consistent presence on the boards. She was Soddy's best player, and is playing at the next level (Bryan College). And in a 26 point outing in their District tournament semi-final win, she surpassed the 1,000 point mark.

Meade:

Lily Cathcart, ‘25, Sequoyah - This post player may just be one of the most underrated ‘25s in the entire state! A rebounding machine. I look for her to improve even more before her senior year!

[player_tooltip player_id='514128' first='Kara' last='Gresham'], ‘26, Lenoir City- The 5'7 combo guard is one that continues to put in the work and it shows every time she steps on the court. She's a solid defender. She's a good ball handler. She can run the point or leak out to be a shooting guard. Junior season is loading and I think it will be a huge one!

Region Freshman of the Year:

Dycus:

[player_tooltip player_id='619788' first='Payton' last='Rollins'], ‘27, South Doyle - Simply a no brainer. She's one of the best ‘27s in the state, and has a tremendous work ethic that will continue to propel her upward. She averaged 17 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals for the upstart South Doyle squad. She's spending her spring playing up with [program_tooltip program_id='713260' first='ETA' last='Thunder'] ‘25, and I've seen her passing and vision make strides. If she can add the passing/playmaking part to her game, and stay locked in defensively, her ceiling will continue to rise.

Dycus Honorable Mention:

[player_tooltip player_id='831180' first='Katie' last='Graves'], ‘27, Heritage – The freshman shooter gave Heritage HUGE minutes and was an important piece of their rotation all season long. I wanted to put her on my “Players to Watch List” as well because I know how hard she works, and she will come back for her sophomore year improved.

Meade:

Like Dycus said, nicely put, this is simply a no brainer. [player_tooltip player_id='619788' first='Payton' last='Rollins'] is an exceptional freshman guard! ELITE!

Regions Players to Watch Next Season

Dycus' List:

[player_tooltip player_id='410170' first='Cloey' last='Wade'], ‘25, South Doyle – The 6'2 post made huge strides this year as she became more than just a big presence in the paint. She's always been a nice rim protector and rebound, but added layers of offense to her game this season. She even has shown some stretch ability this spring with Trotters ‘25 Heifner, and I could easily see her having a breakout senior campaign.

[player_tooltip player_id='513244' first='Aleyah' last='Smyth'], ‘26, Heritage – A really underrated player that I felt like was the perfect role player for Heritage. When you have Swaney and Heath, you don't need more scoring…you need a role player that wants to defend, rebound, move the ball quickly, attack open gaps when teams “over-help” and make a play at the rim or kick to a shooter, and can knock down an open 3. She's the type of kid that can impact the game without scoring the ball….I don't know how many times I'd see her have a stat line like this: 3 points, 5 assists, 7 rebounds, 3 steals, 1 block. She played her role perfectly, and college coaches noticed.

Meade:

Rylee Bolling, ‘27, Lenoir City - This freshman is one that can take over a game. She is a game changer. Bolling excelled in her performance on the court and she is only going to continue to improve. Keep all eyes on this one. Tremendous upside!

Kenley Coker, ‘27, Heritage - The underclassmen at Heritage are all going to be names to watch. Coker is one of those athletes! Coker plays physical and she puts in the work to get better!

Region's Most Fun Team To Cover

Dycus: Heritage HS – They were consistently a top 3 team in 3A all season. They were led by the BCAT 3A Coach of the Year, had two BCAT All State kids, and a great group of role players around them that knew exactly what their roles were. This team was a well oiled machine!

Meade:

There is no denying Heritage with this award. Heritage has a team that is full of next level athletes. This team is exactly what Dycus stated, “A well oiled machine!”
