HS Team Camp Insights: June 7th Edition Part 2

Disclaimer: It's summer ball. For some coaches it means almost literally nothing. But, I think it can set the tone for your team's season. And on an individual level, it shows who's been putting in the work since their HS season ended. She had a tremendous spring, and the fruits of her work are paying off as she a kid with great size that can score from all three levels. I know first hand she's a really hard worker, and it's great to hear her hard work is bearing fruit. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>When Bystry, Masingale, and Baker have played together this summer they've beaten really good teams. They've beat Heritage, Webb, and Sevier Co. Baker is attacking the rim using the gaps created by her shooters. And most importantly for her squad, her on the ball defense has been tremendous. Everyone knows Beaty is a Power 5 kid. And [player_tooltip player_id='816611' first='Raylee' last='Werner'] is a straight up hooper. But, with the rise of Cooper as a major weapon, it truly changes this team's trajectory. She's a 6'1 defensive stalwart that protects the rim and battles on the glass. That's always been true.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>But, she's developed her offensive game into a diverse scorer that you must respect, and it alleviates the pressure from RB and Werner. This group is loaded with talent, and she's given them one more solid weapon and gives them more diversity to their potential lineups. She competes hard defensively, makes the right pass, and knocks down open shots. Even with all the weapon Farragut has, [player_tooltip player_id='810591' first='Jaci' last='Neubert'] will get her 16 points, and find those points naturally in the flow of the game. She never forces the issue, she makes the right play, but still finds buckets naturally.
