I was able to catch some of the games Saturday morning where high school teams were beginning their first competitions with a new roster after high school players transferred or they were figuring out life after seniors had graduated. Let’s start by taking a look at the post players from the event.

was getting lost by her defenders even with her height. She scored the first six points for her team by flashing in and out of the paint being ready to put up her shot off the pass. She always keeps her arms outstretched whether she is on defense protecting the basket or on offense making herself a big target for the entry pass.

Kamaya Robinson Kamaya Robinson 5'11" | SF Asheville School | 2025 NC was making some nice cuts in the paint, and she always seemed to find a body to box out making it certain she had a chance for the rebound. She was aggressive getting into position on both ends of the court, and she runs the floor well being available in transition for some points.

was running the floor well being able to get the pass in transition and score some points. She showed off her footwork in the paint going to work off of offensive rebounds. She can block shots in the paint, and she reads the defensive floor well knowing when to slide into the help position.

was scoring right off the jump getting into position inside being ready for the entry pass and bucket. She was moving well all over the paint, and she hustled back on defense being able to intercept some passes in transition. She’s persistent going after some points on the court as she reads where her opponent is and knows how to move to get her shot up.
