"Jot Them Down" is a new series of articles that I will be trying out for the 2026 Class. This series is focused on covering athletes at each specific position from both the states of Iowa and Nebraska, that collegiate recruiters should take a look at prior to their Junior season of high school ball this upcoming Winter.

One of the biggest transfers that has taken place up until this point during their off-season is [player_tooltip player_id='881227' first='Kalaya' last='Catron'] moving from Millard North to Omaha Westview. Most won't see this as a "huge" move with it at face value but if you take into consideration that she saw Varsity minutes last year on a 17-8 Mustangs North team, you could see how she could step up big time this next two years with this change of scenery. Catron is a better than average prospect, that brings a lot of energy and calculated play to the court. She is someone that can rack up a ton of assists in a short amount of time with her ability to distribute in the right situations. As long as she can step in and see the floor in some decent capacity this next few years, she should see more production than she has up to this point.

Beatrice High School is going to return a good amount of their Varsity roster from a year ago. One of their prospects out of the 2026 Class, that is a great athlete and someone who makes their mark during each contest is [player_tooltip player_id='760229' first='Callie' last='Schwisow']. Schwisow can be moved around the perimeter and used in every which way. She isn't afraid to mix it up with anyone bigger than herself while demonstrating that she will stay down on pump fakes, making it a tough for an opponent to shoot over. If she is matched on a small guard, she can stick in front of them at a consistent rate and wear them out with her endurance. It looks like Schwisow is also a promising young talent on the softball diamond so it'll be interesting what she decides to go with at the end of her high school career. Something I'm sure she isn't even thinking about at this point yet, while she focuses at the seasons right in front of her at hand.

Isabella Miner comes in at #37 in this 2026 Update as she competes with her [program_tooltip program_id='712709' first='Nebraska' last='Attack'] program. Miner is a Combo Guard, that isn't going to hurt you while she is out on the floor competing. Meaning that she is going to give you quality minutes on both sides of the ball and she won't be a liability to the point where you would need to sub her out. I'm expecting her to take a big step this upcoming Winter season at Millard South. If she keeps it simple and plays off of what the defense is giving her, she should put up respectable numbers for her Junior season.

[player_tooltip player_id='502235' first='Kreighton' last='Peck'] of East Buchanan is going to be a big part of her team's "three-headed" offensive monster. Peck is a Combo Guard with good instincts and a coordinated jumper from an offensive perspective. She can either set up her teammates for success with a nice pass or she can get her own at a better than average rate. Her EB team is going to have a bunch of playmakers when the ball is in their hands. As long as everyone plays unselfishly and for one another, they should make a big run this upcoming season against the competition that they will have to match up against.
