[player_tooltip player_id='853012' first='Delainey' last='Duggan'] had a fantastic freshmen season for Tuscarora last season, and she was one of the players that surprised me the most. Tuscarora is losing its best player, Alysa Carrigan, and they will look for someone to pick up the slack; Delainey is the first person I see filling that void. Delainey shoots the ball well and handles the ball well. She is fearless and hit big shots throughout her freshmen season. Delainey already had a tremendous first season and is one of the better young guards in NOVA. Delaney is a very natural athlete and one of the players I see taking a leap.

Stone Bridge is losing two of their leading scorers, and the player they will look at to fill that hole is [player_tooltip player_id='882589' first='Reagan' last='Skorupski']. Reagan recently found herself in the rankings for the first time, and I see her rising again this season. Stone Bridge was great last year, but Reagan sometimes flew under the radar. Reagan's toughness and tenacity are the first things that stick out to me. She is committed defensively and has her fingerprints all over games. Reagan is a good ball handler, passer, and spot-up shooter. Reagan's competitiveness and skill are what coaches love, and being in a situation where she may be the go-to scorer will be why she takes a big leap.

[player_tooltip player_id='719276' first='Claire' last='Kang'] was someone I felt would leap last year following an excellent freshmen season. That didn't happen for several reasons. One of the biggest ones was the plethora of talent Centreville had at guard and wing. A few significant contributors are gone, so Claire's role should be much bigger. Claire is a talented ball handler and passer who gets to the rim effectively. Claire has had a solid AAU season, and her game is maturing.

I recently discussed [player_tooltip player_id='376329' first='Madison' last='Nicholson']'s transfer to Gainesville and why it would be a great move for her. It ensures playing time for a talented player who needs it. Madison fits in perfectly with what this Gainesville team is losing, and even though she is ranked as a top-30 player in the state, she will be able to show why in High School games this year. Gainesville is well-coached and always competes, and Madison will level up her game this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='848973' first='Grace' last='Ellingson'] is another Gainesville Cardinal guard who will take a leap this season. Grace had a couple of enormous performances for Gainesville with her high-level spot-up shooting ability. Grace exceeded expectations in her first year, and I think she takes her game to the next level this season. She will be the second half of a great backcourt with Nicholson.

[player_tooltip player_id='579891' first='Demi' last='Gilliam'] is one of the best rising juniors in the state, but in her first year at PVI, there were offensive parts of her game that needed to be refined. Especially with how their offense ran through Laura Williams a lot, Demi still had a bit of a learning curve. She still started and was solid for a great PVI team when they were healthy. From what I saw at DMVlive, Demi's role will see her use her skillset a little more, and at times, she will be a focal point of this offense. Her passing at her size allows you to do many things, and she will be a star this year. Demi's defense will always be there, and she has the skill set to get a triple-double once or twice before her high school career ends. She may not take a leap in rankings, but her overall play and stats will.
