Standout Guards I-35 showcase: Class 2025

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>First I would like to say thank you to the 1-35 group for hosting such an amazing event. The college coaches ranged from D2, D3, NAIA and JUCO levels. Which was a perfect fit for many of the teams I watched. I am sure phones are ringing and offers being made while I am posting this article. I focused on the Class 2025 first as they are almost sadly finishing their AAU time. Excellent shooter off the dribble that creates the space needed to get her shot off. In the 2 man game of pick and roll she is tough to handle as she can shoot over the screen but yet patience enough to let the roll develop. Good decisions when ran off the 3 point line looking for the lay up or kick to an open teammate. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"placeholder":"Add evaluation here...","className":"text-gray-700"} --> <p class="text-gray-700">Defensively she is a scrapper when it comes to getting on the floor for those 50/50 balls. She does an excellent job of pushing the ball 94 making good decisions on when she has it or not. Talk about a point guard that loves making assists you can see it in her eyes that the set up is coming. A player that loves to play the game that always has a smile while playing. Outstanding deep range from beyond the arch. At 5'3 she knows how to use her body when driving keeping it between her defender and the goal resulting in a foul. Excellent handles int he open floor changing her speed making it tough to lock down on.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>On defense she is a ball hawk making things happen for her team. Defense is her strong point as she just gets after you non stop in the full court press. Quick hands and lateral footwork resulted in the several steals right of the inbounds leading to layups. They are those type of steals that causes the other team to call a timeout.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>On offense she is a combo guard that is comfortable playing the 1 or 2 spot. An excellent 3 point shooter that is a must find player. Avery tagged me in her schedule this past weekend which I am glad she did so. I enjoyed watching Avery and her squad compete all weekend. A very versatile player that does whatever is needed for her team to win, A strong face game with ball in hand with the abilities to pull up, drive by or just back them down for a power move finish. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A player that understands the game on offense with spacing and back door cuts. On defense great knowledge of rotation help the helper concept. Ability to rotate two spots to contest a open layup. Enjoyed watching Avery play this past weekend. The passes off the dribble in the open floor to a rim runner are on a rope and placed where they have to catch and finish, Great ball handles setting up the defender with a series of cross overs then quick explosion in the gap for the drive and finish.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Quick hands, great lateral footwork and low stance makes her a lockdown defender in the open court. Enjoyed watching her play this past weekend. She has received several offers ranging from all levels. Katie fits the definition of a combo guard. Great handles and vision from the point guard spot but can flat out shoot the ball with consistency from the 3 point range. The percentage she shot with this weekend was crazy. Examples: 7/9 one game and 3/4 another game. Looking through her profile i saw games that were 8/12 so it was not just a weekend thing. Folks Katie can shoot the ball! A very consistent player that makes great decisions and scores at a very high percentage for an high school guard.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"placeholder":"Add evaluation here...","className":"text-gray-700"} --> <p class="text-gray-700">I am sure my counter parts in Kansas know all about her but for myself I enjoyed watching her game. Definitely a player I will be following this summer and upcoming school season. An impressive player at the combo guard position. Lexi got hot in the first game I watched scoring 7 straight points in a run. First was a nice step back 3 off the dribble then followed up by two defensive steals resulting in layups. Nice vision in the open floor in transition looking to make the right decisions</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Again first time seeing her but definitely a player that impressed me enough to add her to my watch list for rest of summer and upcoming school season. I think more that people have the opportunity to see her like myself they will see that Lexi can play. She creates the contact and finishes through it for the layup or trip to the free throw line, An excellent shooter that will take advantage of a soft defense.
