I sometimes feel like a broken record and have mentioned recently on Prep Redzone and Prep Dig the need for a Western Kansas scout.

Prep Network is actively looking for a scout in Western Kansas wanting to scout multiple sports.

While I was at the KSHSAA Coaching School in Salina, I mentioned the need for a scout to high school coaches I talked to at the clinic.

While the majority of our scouts live on the Eastern side of the state, personally I try to make sure that Western Kansas prospects don't get left behind! I never thought I would use that phrase in a report.

Anyone interested in working as a scout for Prep Network and joining the Kansas team of scouts should apply at the following link https://prepnetwork.com/our-careers/#current-openings. Also, if you want more information about how we work as scouts, feel free to contact me via email deckscoutks@gmail.com or on X @KSScoutDeck.

In the meantime here is a look at five western Kansas prospects heading into their senior seasons with large expectations.

[player_tooltip player_id='456532' first='Halle' last='Jones'], 55”, PG, Holcomb

Jones is currently ranked No. 78 overall by Prep Girls Hoops Kansas. She averaged 16 points per game as a junior. She is 109 points away from scoring 1,000 career high school points. She is one of the more accurate shooters in the state last season, and shot 76 percent from the free-throw line over three seasons. Jones was recently featured by my colleague Robert Kelly as one of the best players from Kansas he saw during this past club season. He described he as being a “well rounded basketball player.”

[player_tooltip player_id='675827' first='Carlie' last='Brummer'], 5'7”,CG, St. John/Tipton

Brummer scored 15.8 points per contest during her junior campaign. She is currently ranked No. 156 in the Kansas Class of 2025. She shot 34 percent from 3-point range and 69 percent from the free-throw line. Brummer is also a defensive stopper who picked opponent's pockets 94 times last season.

[player_tooltip player_id='918841' first='Bryn' last='Gillespie'], 5'8”, CG, Quinter

Gillespie is currently ranked No. 165 overall by Prep Girls Hoops. She scored a career-high 14.4 points per game and has averaged double-digit scoring totals in back-to-back seasons for the Bulldogs. She shot extremely well from the field as a junior converting shots at a 48 percent pace. The Quinter prospect needs 274 points during her senior season to reach 1,000-career points.

[player_tooltip player_id='822752' first='Averi' last='Windholz'], 5'10”, C, Victoria

Windholz is a physical specimen who thrives in the paint. She is currently ranked No. 175 overall. She has scored 542 points and collected 376 rebounds over the past two seasons. She shot an impressive 41 percent from the floor as a junior and will head into her senior season looking to improve her free-throw shooting and catching the eyes of college coaches.

[player_tooltip player_id='1042516' first='Ellie' last='McGuire'], 5'8”, CG, Cunningham

McGuire is an unranked prospect who scored 12.8 points per contest as a junior. She also averaged 5/3 rebounds per game for the Cunningham Wildcats. McGuire has a nice jump shot and can score in transition. The Cunningham guard connected on 49 three-point baskets last season.
