In this piece we touch on five individuals across the state of Nebraska who will be returning this Winter to the Varsity floor in attempts to build on what they did a season ago. These five prospects specifically put up noteworthy numbers in the Blocks Per Game department last Winter and they will be on pace to do the same thing once again over these next eight months.

[player_tooltip player_id='766600' first='Tarryn' last='Godsey'] of Nebraska City did something last season as a Junior that we haven't seen in a long time out of the state of Nebraska at the high school Varsity level. Godsey put up respectable production numbers across the board but most importantly - she recorded over 4.5 Blocks Per Game in her 22 contests on the season, ending her year with 100 Blocks on the Winter as a whole. This number was above and beyond what anyone else averaged throughout their year, making it a truly eye opening number. Godsey is going to have a chance to step up this Winter and build on what she did a year ago. If she stays confident in her ability, I'm sure she will continue to do well.

David City put together a respectable season during their 2023-2024 high school Varsity season, finishing their year with a 14-8 overall record. Their anchor and powerhouse in the middle of the lane was their Sophomore Center, Kamrny Behrn. Behrn averaged nearly a double-double per game with 9.5 PPG, 7.6 RPG, along with registering some other positive stats on the Winter, including recording just under 4 BPG. This next eight months, The David City Scouts will have a chance to show that they could be even better than a year ago. If Behrn takes care of business in the middle and everyone else has worked in their offseason to become a little bit better, then they are going to be just fine.

I haven't seen [player_tooltip player_id='998744' first='Brooke' last='Sell'] compete live this past year but from all of the video I've seen and the stats she records, I think it's safe to say that she is someone of opportunity on the hardwood. Sell puts up impressive numbers in the BPG and RPG categories, while being a solid offensive weapon once others create for her. Last Winter she didn't average too many PPG so this season, that will definitely be an emphasis as she tries to help out her squad in any ways necessary to be successful.

[player_tooltip player_id='305778' first='Avril' last='Smith'] of Millard North is prepped to have her best year on the floor this upcoming Winter with who their team will lose and the production that they will need to make up for. Smith was a big producer a year ago in her efforts as a Junior, so her responsibilities this Winter should be the same or even more from the looks of it. Smith comes into this upcoming season as a top BPG leader from a year ago throughout the state and that speaks to her defensive prowess. Not only is she a stout offensive prospect, she is also a difference maker on defense and that will translate to the next level before you know it.

[player_tooltip player_id='758860' first='Skyler' last='Siebrandt'] competed for the first time last season at the Varsity level on the basketball court and she did a good job of holding her own as a first year competitor. Siebrandt scored around 5 PPG and grabbed 5 RPG each contest last season, while also averaging 3 Blocks Per Contest on the defensive side of the ball. Everyone in this article is considered a difference maker defensively because of their BPG numbers from last season and how that impacts a contest in the grand scheme of things.
