is still one of the top uncommitted prospects that the state of Nebraska has to offer at this time. Not only is Smith a quick thinking individual with great instincts and natural ability. She is also a defensive stopper, usually getting a few BPG, every time she takes the floor. By the end of last high school season, Smith was a top 20 prospect throughout the state for BPG with 2. That might not seem like a crazy number but it does mean something. It means she gets consistent stops every game, she is always in the right spots defensively, and she has a better than average motor compared to those around her on the Varsity court. It’ll be interesting to see where Smith ends top for collegiate ball but wherever it is. They are getting someone that can bring positive energy to their program and that’s something you love to see.

and her game but what I do know is that she is a high-product hooper and she is going to be a positive to whatever collegiate program she commits to at the end of the day. Smith is a flat out producer. Someone that is going to do whatever she can to help her team and she is going to put up big numbers in different categories across the board. This upcoming Winter she will be looked upon to be their major producer and I’m sure she is going to kill it. There won’t be many that can matchup with her individually so a lot of stopping her will come down to the opposing team’s game-plan.

of Millard North is prepped to have her best year on the floor this upcoming Winter with who their team will lose and the production that they will need to make up for. Smith was a big producer a year ago in her efforts as a Junior, so her responsibilities this Winter should be the same or even more from the looks of it. Smith comes into this upcoming season as a top BPG leader from a year ago throughout the state and that speaks to her defensive prowess. Not only is she a stout offensive prospect, she is also a difference maker on defense and that will translate to the next level before you know it.

of Millard North has a high ceiling on the basketball court when you take into consideration her size at 6’0, athletic ability, and physical prowess near the basket. Smith is someone that can punish down low or she can step out and move around the perimeter to help spread the floor, all while being a better than adequate rebounder. If Smith is motivated and has good guidance to understand situations moving forward, she is going to be a lot to handle on any court she competes on. This July is going to be a big one for everyone on this ETG Midwest 3SSB team. If they can play their best, they will have a chance to bring home an Adidas National Title before the month of July comes to an end and that will bring in even more collegiate interest to everyone on this roster.

and what she brings to the floor. Smith is a tall prospect, that can move from the inside of the lane to the perimeter in the blink of an eye. During her previous high school season, Smith was forced to move around and really attack from the short corner or outside the lane. I think this experience actually made her better. She had to use her handle a little bit more, showing off her versatility on a few different levels. I have always been high on Smith as a prospect. I think she can bring a lot of positives to the floor and that is what she is going to do with this group. She is one of their tallest prospects so as long as Coach Prince can get her in favorable situations, she is going to score and defend at a high rate all Spring/Summer long. Everyone is going to have to find their niche on this team and that’s no different in this case. If Smith can find where she stands early on, while making a connection with everyone on roster, it’s going to be a looonnggg season for any opponents who steps to them on the road this year.

is someone who was just on the cut off of making this Top 10 and if she wants to keep this position, she is going to have to work hard and show me some more positives this high school season. Smith is an interesting prospect because she has height, she puts up big numbers, she is a defensive maniac, and she heads her teams full-court press…at 6’2. When you account for all these things, you can tell why Smith made the #10 spot for this Update. There is not many times that you see a player in the high school girls game that is over 6’2 and full court pressing consistently. Smith is someone that I’m going to keep a close on this high school season. If she continues to succeed and glue her game together a little bit more over this next year, she is sure to bring in a few more offers before things are said and done with her high school career.
