Now that the Spring & Summer grassroots season is in the past, and student-athletes are preparing to return to their regular school schedules, I wanted to take the time to highlight a handful of 2025 prospects who I feel are still under-recruited and offer a great deal of value for the next level. The following prospects are all ranked in the PGH Indiana Top-100 for 2025.

The last couple of grassroots seasons, Avah has been really good, and I know a few schools who have taken notice. However, I feel like she is still one of the better scoring guards available, and I can't put my finger on it as to why. I question if it's a location thing, since she's from Southwest Indiana. She has length, fluid athleticism, and a smoothness to her game. She has gotten stronger over the years, but she has always been skilled with the ball. She has a great mid-range pull-up game, she finishes in a variety of ways around the basket, plus she can knock down a rhythm 3-pointer. She's also active and somewhat crafty defensively.

Soriah is a sum-of-her-skills type of prospect. She isn't the best in the state in any one category, but she is also well-rounded and not really deficient in any category either. She is a nice athlete, she moves well in all directions, and she plays with a nice motor. She has some touch around the perimeter, she can finish inside as well, plus she can handle the ball and initiate the offense when necessary. She has enough ability to become a high-level defender, and I think that's where she can stand out the most. I've compared them before, but I still think she has some similarities to an Aubrie Booker (2024 IU-South Bend commit).

Mackenzie missed a giant portion of the 2024 grassroots season injured, but she finally returned for some action in July, and hopefully that was enough for curious schools to make a decision on her. She is a strong, fairly athletic point guard who does a nice job of taking care of the basketball. She uses her frame well to get downhill, but she also has good vision and can find open teammates in positions to score. What I like most about her game is her competitive fire and willingness to seek contact as a guard. I think she could be a nice recruit to get on late for some of the Midwest's elite small colleges.

Andrea is somewhat "hidden" at a small school in Northwest Indiana, but she put together a nice grassroots season in 2024, and she looked noticeably improved. She has always been an extremely long, bouncy kid, and she has never shied away from contact. However, she does look stronger, more physical, and more effective finishing around the rim. She has a nice 15-foot game and does well in the mid-post and short corners. If she can make her 3-point shot consistent, she could be a real threat. Defensively, she can sit down and defend wings or block shots and protect the paint. She's also a nice pursuing rebounder.

Jalyn is another nice small school prospect, but she is an explosive scorer who can put up points in a hurry. She has length, fluid athleticism, and even a nice burst of speed to the basket. She has touch outside, along with some range, and she can get hot from deep, but I've been more impressed with her ability and willingness to attack the basket as much as she does. She gets as much work done inside of 15-feet, plus she uses the charity stripe as a weapon. Defensively, she has quick hands and can create steals/deflections with her length. Look for her to be a "steal" for a small college, because she has real talent.

It was great to see "Lexi" put in a nice, full grassroots season this year, because she has dealt with her share of bumps & bruises over the years. She is a long, wiry-strong, hard-working forward who possesses some athleticism as well. She has a nice inside-out game, where she can operate and cause problems in the mid-post, plus she can knock down a 3-pointer or drive it North/South from 22-feet. She really knows how to compete each possession as well, and she does a lot of the "little things". She will rebound out of her area, she will defend multiple positions with effort, plus she will get on the floor.

The more I watch Brynlee, for as productive as she is as a high school player, I think she'll be even more impactful at the college level. She has an athletic frame, nice length, fluid movements, plus some bounce to her game. She plays with a good motor, pursues rebounds, and doesn't mind contact. She does a really nice job of working the baseline and short corners, plus she has touch from there and in the mid-post. She can even step out and knock down the occasional 3-pointer. Defensively, she is active and can switch or hard hedge on ball screens to defend guards briefly off the bounce. She has a lot of nice potential to her game.
