Freshman Showcase: Coach Q’s Top 5

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Over 60 freshmen made the trip to Louisville on Saturday to compete with many of the best players from across the state in this 2028 class. There were several names that have been known for a while coming into the event but plenty more who made names for themselves at camp on Saturday afternoon. She was poised all day long, rarely getting sped up or making a bad read or decision. Mejia is quick but also able to pull up and score in the midrange instead of forcing threes or layups. She is super smooth with her offense and has deep range on her jumper. Mangrum has a little bit of a ways to go with her defense but some of that can be attributed to the camp setting where most don't value the defensive end. Kyleigh has a lot of potential and is an aggressive driver who has the ability to knock down threes when needed. Probably my favorite thing about Chestnut on Saturday was how competitive she was. Instead, Wade just got back up and sprinted back on defense to try and make another play. Wade was one of the best players in the 3 on 3 setting and played well in 5 on 5.
