Kyleigh averaged 10.9 points per game and was a key contributor for George Rogers Clark during its dominant 33–2 season and run to the program’s first state championship. A reliable offensive option all season, she showcased her ability to catch and shoot from the outside, knocking down 40.4% from three-point range while connecting on nearly two triples per contest. She showed noticeable growth and maturity as a sophomore and is poised for an even bigger junior season.

Kyleigh has really come into her own in her sophomore season, emerging as the leading scorer for GRC at 12.6 points per game while shooting an efficient 48% from the field and nearly 40% from three-point land. Being one of the top options on such a deep and talented roster speaks volumes, and her impressive outings against tough in-state and out-of-state competition only reinforce her impact. While she’s known primarily for her offensive ability, she’s also a very solid contributor on the defensive end. Kyleigh’s ceiling continues to rise, and her trajectory is one to watch in the Class of 2028.

Kyleigh came out of the gates hot, opening her night with a left-handed finish before immediately coming up with a steal. She caught fire from deep in the first quarter, drilling back-to-back triples, and did a great job keeping her head up to find teammates running the floor in transition. She showed nice touch on a baseline jumper in the third quarter and had strong finish in traffic in the fourth.

Kyleigh made a meaningful impact as a freshman for state runner-up George Rogers Clark, contributing valuable minutes for one of Kentucky’s top programs. Kyleigh is a serious catch-and-shoot threat from deep, capable of heating up in a hurry. She can also get the rim and finish really well either hand. She is a tough competitor and high-character player, she’s the first one to pick up a teammate off the floor and leads by example. Her basketball awareness and feel for the game are well beyond her years. Chestnut is so smooth with the ball!  She has a nice mid range shot and can put on a clinic from 3 point land! Shows patience, takes great care of the ball, and Kyleigh will make you pay with her quick release! Reads the defense very well! (Below with ball)

Kyleigh made an immediate impact when she stepped on the floor. She dropped a dime in transition and had a nice rebound and put back that got her going. She applied good ball pressure, ran the floor well in transition, and knocked down two triples including one from well beyond the arc late in the fourth quarter.

She plays the game the right way and has the awareness and basketball IQ to know when to make it happen herself or kick it to an open teammate. She is an effective scorer at all three levels, and is the type of player that is going to give 100% on both ends of the floor. Kyleigh looked good over the summer and should see a significant amount of minutes in her freshman season for the Lady Cardinals.

Another year, another really good GRC freshman at the Freshman Showcase. Kyleigh has a lot of potential and is an aggressive driver who has the ability to knock down threes when needed. Probably my favorite thing about Chestnut on Saturday was how competitive she was. Her motor never stopped running and you can tell she loves to compete.
