The only reason that [player_tooltip player_id='311365' first='Journey' last='Houston'] didn't fall into the Top 10 for me in this is because she has been injured for the past year and I haven't seen her compete live in over a year because of that. She ended her Junior high school season off with an injury early-on in the Winter and she didn't play AAU this Summer. That shouldn't take away from Houston's skill or ability in any way though. She is a nationally ranked player for her Class and she is an Iowa commit, who is going to be able to step up and produce for the Hawkeyes before you know it at the Combo Guard position. As long as she continues to come back from her injury and do her best, she should continue to thrive once again.

Someone that is in the conversation for best Guard defender in the state is [player_tooltip player_id='311377' first='Mya' last='Crawford'] of Ankeny Centennial High School. Crawford is someone that can get after it on both ends of the floor with her high motor, high energy, and competitive demeanor. She is someone that doesn't take losing lightly and that has helped her gain a lot of success throughout her basketball career up until this point. Following her Senior season, when she gets to Drake, she is going to standout to her teammates as a scrappy defender and someone that everyone loves to compete on the hardwood with. She should be a in-state player that gets a lot of love for the Bulldogs these next few years and I can't wait to see that unfold first hand.

[player_tooltip player_id='582806' first='Trishelle' last='Miller'] has a big season ahead with her recent transfer to Bishop Heelan High School. Miller was a star on her Sioux City East Pirates team last Winter and I'm sure she is going to produce in similar ways with the Crusaders for her Junior year of action. She will be placed on a roster with other future D1 level prospects so as long as everyone plays to their strengths, they should shine and be able to make a big playoff run before this Winter comes to an end. Miller's playmaking ability, with her natural smooth operating skills, makes her someone that is sure to makes some waves in one way or another in the near future and that's why she falls in this specific place on this list.

Another player that is going to have to answer the bell this upcoming Winter to hold this high of a ranking is [player_tooltip player_id='582813' first='Ellie' last='Muller'], older sister of [player_tooltip player_id='777225' first='Katie' last='Muller']. Ellie is a little bit taller than Katie and a completely different position, even though they do have some similarities from an outside perspective. Ellie is more of a dominant prospect inside the lane, that can use her size to produce offensively over smaller defenders or she can wall up on defense and get stops at a high rate against other tall and skilled prospects. She currently sits with about 10 Division-1 offers because of everything I named above. I have no idea where she will end up but with her natural height and prowess, I'm sure she will make an impact right away either during games or during practice time.

[player_tooltip player_id='612984' first='Alyvia' last='McCorkle'] of Bettendorf High School is someone that is slept on throughout the state of Iowa as a prospect because she competes on the very edge of the state and during the AAU season, she plays on a national circuit with the Mac Irvin Fire program out of the city of Chicago but don't be mistaken, McCorkle can really hoop and her D1 offers speak to that as she steps into her Junior season with the Bulldogs. To be able to crack this specific Top 15 Rankings for prospects throughout the state is impressive so she should be proud of herself. There are some prestigious names on this list above and her game definitely belongs in this conversation from the looks of her skill-set and production so far at the Varsity level.
