To be a, “Stock-Riser”, means a few things depending on how you look at it but the most important factor in my opinion is that the prospect is continuously putting in meaningful work in their off-time and that work is translating to the floor in real game-time. In this piece, we cover five individuals out of this 2025 Class in Nebraska, that have embodied what it means to be a Stock-Riser these past few months.

[player_tooltip player_id='896704' first='Grayson' last='Gentile'] of Columbus High School is one of the tallest prospects in the state, that is still uncommitted up until this point. Gentile comes in standing at 6'2 and she has put together a well rounded play-style up into this point in her career. In most situations, on whichever floor she steps on, she is usually the tallest player competing or close to it but it's not just her size that plays a factor. It's how she uses it, mixed with her athletic ability and knowledge of the game. She is very good at understanding where to be for missed shots on both sides of the ball, usually rebounding at high rate and she has a soft touch to lay it back in or throw an outlet pass to get down the floor in transition. Moving into this Winter, Gentile has two official basketball offers. One from Ottawa (KS) and one from Briar Cliff (IA). I'm not sure if she is only going to play one sport at the next level as she is also a producer when it comes to Volleyball but I'm sure both of these programs would gladly welcome her on both teams if she wanted. It's also important to note that I'm sure she will receive a few more offers before she commits, so we will just have to wait and see who else could come into play.

I have had the chance to talk about Pius X High School and their upcoming program a couple times these past few weeks with these Class updates and I'm convinced they are in to have a very successful Winter. The main reason being the high-level prospects that they have on roster. One of them that recently committed this past year is SF - [player_tooltip player_id='316455' first='Ellie' last='Wells']. Wells will be a vital piece to her teams overall success once again this Winter and she has been working all off-season for this exact moment. During AAU, Wells did a solid job of putting together a memorable year. She is now looking to take that momentum, along with the momentum of her commitment, and channel that into one more meaningful run for her Senior season. It won't be easy but like I said. With who they have one roster, it's definitely possible.

I am very excited to see the year ahead of [player_tooltip player_id='897402' first='Nolan' last='Gomes'] of Millard West High School. Gomes should have a more prominent role on her Wildcats team this season, as they attempt to go back-to-back as State Champs for their Class. Gomes brings size at 6'1, physicality, communication, and heart with her onto the hardwood and I'm hoping that shows out 10 fold this next six months. While the Gessert sisters are still on the roster, they will obviously be the main producers but they do a great job of setting up everyone else around them for success so Gomes just needs to stay ready.

Bellevue West High School is going to have to answer a lot of questions as it pertains to her offensive production this next season. The T-Birds will return this Winter without their main producer from years past and so there is going to be chances for others to step up, making their name known. One of those prospects at the CG/SF positions is [player_tooltip player_id='895658' first='Leah' last='Hickman']. Hickman is whatever you need her to be. You want her to bruise down low in the post? Done. You want her to lockdown a smaller guard on the outside? Easy work. On this upcoming T-Birds team, she is going to do whatever she can as a playmaker and that's something everyone can respect.

One of the best uncommitted overall prospects that the state of Nebraskas has to offer, no matter age level or Class is SF/CG - [player_tooltip player_id='305777' first='Elsa' last='Vedral']. Vedral has that combination of length, quickness, savvy skill, and aggressive edge that help her compete at a high level, no matter the competition that is matching up across from her. Offensively, she is skilled enough to take smaller opponents into the post or she can stay on the outside and play off of the dribble. Defensively, she is just as good. Her size plays to her advantage and she knows how to use it. I'm not sure of the official offers that Vedral holds but she has taken some immersive visits to Boston University and Louisville. If those things are any indication, she is going to be just fine.
