Class of 2026: Rising Stars Ready to Shine in Basketball

Let's face it, not all schools will come home with a trophy at the end of the season. That's just the reality of life and the game of basketball. However, each squad can set little milestones to eclipse along the way. In doing so, the class of 2026 is ready to help reach those goals set before them.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>If you are serious about this game, the opportunity to be great and extend your playing career will be available as people are always looking. They will come find you, but you have to be consistent and continuously work on your craft. I am talking about collegiate coaches. There is a place for you out there. May not be your dream school, but in order to fulfill your passion and do something that you have worked so hard for, you may have to broaden your horizons a little bit.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>In the class of 2026, I have said countless times that this is going to be a big year for them. I feel like the junior year is always the year where kids make the most impact. Now I am not going to say I have done this study and over the years this and this has occurred. No, what I will say is this, junior year kids still have that sense of urgency to get things done at a high level. Meaning they know schools are out searching, they have one more year of travel ball, kids have had two years of learning a system and little things about the game. Senior year, so much goes on. Junior year, the focus is still there. That's one of the reasons why I am saying this class is poised to have a breakout year. Not just because they are juniors, but because they have a solid body of work leading into this year.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>When looking throughout the state, here at PGH Tennessee have uncovered even more gems who are ready to be more intricate parts of their teams success. They are looking to step up, take the reins of this opportunity, and help lead their squads. The time is now for Ellie and she is ready to be the one. She's played a pivotal role in the past and look for her opportunities to increase this season. She is a face up big who can knock the middy down, but also put it on the floor and finish through contact. She has nice hands, always ready to catch hot passes given to her. On the defensive end, she blocks shots, grabs boards, and runs the floor well, leading to easy shot attempts. Defensively, she will pick up right where she was last year. She has active hands and feet and will look to get steals, deflections, and blocks by the bunches. From a defensive perspective, she gets steals, plays solid off ball help, and is always in position to make the right play at the right time. Offensively, she has a sweet stroke from the arc, she holds that follow through as the ball finds the bottom of the net. She has the ability to put the ball on the floor, slice through gaps, and finish at the rim. Got a taste of playing deep into the tournament last year. A selfless ballplayer who goes all out. Doesn't matter if it's travel ball, high school ball, or even pickup, this kid gets after it. She defends, gets rebounds, steals, just an active player who shows up and does her job. In offensive sets, she looks to attack down hill, letting go an impressive shooting form. This is a solid kid who will come in and help the Lady Bears right away. Look for her to fit in and add value to this team from day 1. She will be looked upon for leadership both vocally and by example.
