Region MVP –

Joya Crawford, ‘25, Dyersburg– Gotta give this to the best player on the best team in 3A. Averaged 17 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists even when defenses threw everything at her just trying to contain her. Really impactful defender as well. She has committed to the University of Cincinnatti, proving that she's a legit national talent.

Meade:

I have to agree with Dycus again. Joya Crawford is also my MVP!

Region Most Improved Player –

[player_tooltip player_id='593347' first='Chelby' last='Jordan'], ‘26, Dyersburg - The 5'8 PG played sensationally during the postseason, and I thought she was Dyersburg's best player at times in the state tournament. She was 2nd on the team in points (13 points per game), led them in rebounds (5.2), led them in assists, led them in steals, tied for the lead in blocks, and shot 47% from the floor. She skyrocketed up the recruiting rankings. Crawford was named to the All-State team, and still has lots of room to get better.

Hallie Allen, ‘24, South Gibson – Averaged 13 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists as the best player for South Gibson. Basically led her team in every category.

Meade:

Natalie Lewis, ‘24, South Gibson - Lewis was a crucial piece in the success that South Gibson had this year. Natalie showed improvement in every category!

Regions Freshman of the Year –

[player_tooltip player_id='821759' first='KayKay' last='Strayhorn'], ‘27, Dyersburg – Showed a really diverse skillset as Dyersburg's third option. Came up huge in their state playoff run. Gives you a bit of everything as she averaged 8 points, 5 boards, and 3 assists.

Meade:

Just like the MVP. I have to agree on the freshman of the year too. [player_tooltip player_id='821759' first='KayKay' last='Strayhorn'] is a freshman that will be on everyone's radar!

Region Players to Watch Next Season –

[player_tooltip player_id='636391' first='Karson' last='Dunn'], ‘26, South Gibson – Will likely fill Hallie Allen's role, and is a similar player. Averaged 10 points a game, and showed potential as a high level shooter (shot 37% from 3).

[player_tooltip player_id='636531' first='Camariya' last='Woodland'], ‘26, Haywood – The sophomore post put together a really nice overall season, and showed high level potential. Averaged 15 points and 8 rebounds in a really tough district.

Meade:

Dyersburg has a ton of young talent on their team. Instead of listing individual names, I would tell everyone to watch this region and this Dyersburg team!

Regions Most Fun Team To Cover–

Dyersburg is an easy choice here! The team won a state championship, has high D1 talent, and returns their top 3 players.

Meade:

It's hard to pick one. I'll have to say South Gibson and Dyersburg. I enjoyed watching both of these well coached teams! Should we call Dyersburg with the repeat?!
