Fall Open Gyms: NC GBB (guards)

In this workout, she made it hard for her teammates to dribble over half-court. Barnes has outstanding touch on her jump shot and can create space with a sweet step-back move. She is a special athlete who can finish at the rim with her left or right hand at full speed. She is fast, she changes her speed well, she can handle the basketball, and she has a smooth jump shot. Hicks can shoot it from the two or the three and drained multiple shots in this workout with her teammates. Hicks has a great feel for the game. She knows when to pass, when to score, and when to get everyone fired up. Hicks blocked a shot - out of nowhere - in a transition drill and it quickly brought up the energy level in the gym. Hicks has fantastic hops and great body control. She is always a step ahead of the opposition. She is a terrific guard with an exceptional basketball IQ. Graves set her teammates up to score over and over again in this workout. She can also score with power or drain the outside jump shot. Graves can burst past her defender and attack the rim or Graves can use a screen and dissect the situation for a score. She can drain a floater, she can score with her right or her left, and she is not afraid of contact in the paint. Barker has a great handle and can shake her defender with a step back or quick in-and-out dribble. When the basketball is in Barker's hands, something good will happen for NC GBB. On defense, Barker is a tyrant. She is able to drive and draw multiple defenders and then make the perfect pass to her teammates. Brooks changes her speed to get past her defender and then makes terrific decisions for NC GBB. Brooks is willing to pass, to score, to get to the foul line, or be the hype person for her squad. She brings fantastic energy to the gym and her teammates.
