Saturday, Prep Girls Hoops Indiana held its annual Freshman Showcase to help identify several of the state's top Freshmen. With 90 prospects from the 2028 class in attendance, this provided an opportunity to see them compete head-to-head, as well as together, in a combination of 3-on-3 and 5-on-5 games. Below is a look at seven additional forwards & posts who I felt stood out when I had the chance to see them. We will have additional articles later this week highlighting every prospect who was in attendance.

Jillian is a traditional post prospect who could very well find some minutes on the Lake Central Varsity squad this Winter. She has a solid frame that will continue to get stronger, possibly even overpowering. She has nice length, she plays hard, and she runs the floor North/South well. She has some skill with her back to the basket, plus she does a nice job of keeping possessions alive. I think as she continues to build her skill facing the basket, she could be a good one.

Jessica plays with a ton of energy, as she flies around the floor trying to affect the game in any way she can. She has tremendous length, speed, and a little bounce to her. She's likely not done growing, but at some point, strength could definitely help her absorb contact better. She has some skill in the mid-post, she can shoot or attack from there, plus she's a versatile defender who can take on most forwards, undersized posts, and even the occasional bigger wing/guard.

Raelynn is an extremely long, wiry-strong, and very active forward. She plays with a lot of bounce, she can get out and run the floor well, but she also changes directions fairly easily. She doesn't seem to mind contact inside and likes playing along the baseline and the blocks. As she continues to get stronger, it will help her physicality for sure. She's another one who can defend out on the floor, plus she's a very active pursuing rebounder with a nose for the ball.

Naomi was the tallest prospect at the Freshman Showcase, and she doesn't look like she's done growing either. She has tremendous length, wiry strength, and she's already showing some muscle tone. She looks like she could become a force inside for the Bulldogs once [player_tooltip player_id='295789' first='Avery' last='Gordon'] (2025) graduates. Naomi does a nice job of seeking contact, but the next step for her is to start making her offensive moves more instinctive. She's already a presence defensively.

Reagan could be a good one for the Lady Tigers in the frontcourt. She has a solid to strong frame already, she's a nice athlete in most directions, and she seems like a tireless worker. She will battle and bang inside, she'll fight for rebounds, plus she can play comfortably around the perimeter. She can sit down and defend, she has some touch from the outside, and she can put it on the floor two to three dribbles and attack the basket North/South.

Leah is another one of those hybrid inside-out forwards who seem to thrive in the Homestead system. She has nice length, wiry strength, and she is a fluid to smooth athlete with some bounce to her. She plays with a really nice motor, has some touch to near the 3-point line, and she isn't bad attacking the basket from there. She might still grow, but as she continues to get stronger, she'll be a problem as a skillful and physical face-up '4'.

I first saw Caroline in June with the Cathedral team at the IBCA team showcase. She is a strong, physical forward, and she's another one who can play inside and battle, or she can step outside and use her skillset to her advantage. She's a solid athlete in most directions, plus she plays with a nice motor. She is probably best in the mid-post right now because she can do most things from there. However, long-term, I see her becoming more of a wing prospect.
