Freshman Showcase Team 1 Evals

Prep Girls Hoops Missouri takes a look at the members of Team 1 from Sunday's Freshman Showcase at Chaminade. The list does not include the team members that were included on the All Showcase Team.     [player_tooltip player_id='999537' first='Savannah' last='Swinton'] (Parkway South): A 5'11" forward who has good mobility and athleticism. She used her length to block shots and she even went out on the perimeter to block a 3-point attempt which was impressive. Her rebounding was also very good at both ends of the court.She also had some good seals in the low post to get position. She is also a capable ball handler who was very fluid. She knocked down a 15-foot jumper from the elbow as well. She has a pretty substantial upside with her height and athletic ability.   [player_tooltip player_id='999530' first='Isabella' last='Argo'] (Clever): A 5'10" forward from the SWMO area who has a very good skill set from 15 feet in. She has good footwork in the post as she was scoring on a nice up and under move. She could also catch the ball from the perimeter and attack with a quick one or two dribble move to get to the basket. She has a very effective Euro-step in traffic to get a bucket. She also makes good use of ball fakes to set up her drives. She scored on a three-point play in the last seconds to win the first scrimmage game for her team.   [player_tooltip player_id='968108' first='Zoe' last='Zimmerman'] (Smithville): A 5'8" forward who was a big matchup problem whoever was trying to guard her. She has a strong body which enabled her to go inside and move people around in the low post. However, she was very comfortable and effective on the perimeter. She was bringing the ball up and facilitating offense. She was hitting mid-range jumpers off the catch and she also knocked down open 3-pointers. She was also getting on the floor for loose balls, which was very good to see.   [player_tooltip player_id='999534' first='Nadia' last='Bateman'] (Principia): A 5'4" point guard who was one of the most tenacious defenses players that I watched during the camp. She was picking up people in the backcourt and harassing them and turning them on the dribble. She moved her feet and was very active with her hands. She also used her excellent speed and quickness to play with tempo in the open court. She could also make an open shot from the perimeter to keep defenses honest.   [player_tooltip player_id='893576' first='Lily' last='Harper (Jackson): A 5'8" forward from the SEMO area is a versatile player with her physical strength and ability to operate on the perimeter. She has good fundamentals as a ball handler and passer. She also moves well without the ball as she was cutting to the right spots. She is also tough around the basket and she can score on a post up or on a tough take from the perimeter.   [player_tooltip player_id='948912' first='Bella' last='Groves (Willard): A 4'11" point guard who was the smallest player in the camp, but she knows how to play her position well. She was very good at distributing the ball. When she got the ball in the backcourt, she advanced the ball upcourt with the pass to give her team an advantage. She was also penetrating in the lane and kicking the ball out to open shooters.   Gwendolyn Fleming (Rolla): A 5'7" forward who did a good job of operating in the lane. She was posting up well and she made good use of head and shoulder fakes inside to keep defenders off balance. She also had an effective up and under move. She was also hitting the mid-range jumper off the catch. She was very active on the boards as well.
