Many of the area's premier seniors, juniors and sophomores converged on Rock Hill at this year's Prep Girls Hoops Carolinas Expo. It was held at the Rock Hill Sports & Events Center – one of the Palmetto State's newer and more modern venues as it was finished in 2019.

We have profiled a number of the standouts from the 5v5 teams that took part in this year's Expo. Here, we turn our attention to a few of them that comprised Team 9.

There was a reason as to why we featured Rector in one of our Versatile Playmakers articles recapping this year's Carolinas Expo. The Hibriten standout stands nearly at six feet and was part of a 2023-24 Panthers rendition that finished with a 19-9 record. At 5-foot-11, one can expect that rebounding would be one of the strong points of her game – and it is including on the offensive glass. Rector will keep defenses guessing. Since she has such a height advantage over much of her competition, one can expect her to primarily play near the rim, but Rector also displays impressive rim attacking capabilities.

Dozier was one of two representing 5A River Bluff at this year's Carolinas Expo. One of the areas of her game she places a great deal of emphasis on is her 3-point shooting capabilities. Dozier's game at this stage of her career is still developing, but she is showing prowess as well with her passing. She can operate well within the flow of an offense and knows when the right time is to attack the rim. Ball handling is another element of her still developing skillset that is a sight to watch. Dozier may be on the list of sophomores that could put together noteworthy 2024-25 seasons.

There was plenty to be pleased with watching her performance this past weekend. Young is looking to translate a stellar season on the grassroots circuit with Carolina Hurricanes into more success this season with Washington County. She averaged 7.7 points last season in 21 games as a freshman. While she primarily plays at the two, one can move her over to playing the one and it will still yield benefits for her team. Young also understands the art of driving to the basket and drawing contact to get to the free throw line. Last season's Panthers rendition finished with a record of 11-10 – the most since 2018-19 when 1A Washington County claimed 18 victories.

Last season's 3A North Iredell rendition concluded said season with a mark of 20-9. The Raiders' aim is to build on that success in what will be Bradford's final go-round sporting the North Iredell colors. Bradford is a two-sport athlete who also partakes in golf alongside her basketball accomplishments. She is listed at 5-foot-8. A hallmark to her game is versatility. One can insert Bradford into one of the forward spots in the frontcourt or as a guard in the backcourt. Bradford sees the court well and that particularly comes in handy when looking to make plays in the transition game.

It is not every day that a standout from one region with a “North” and “South” is present in showcase in another region with a “North” and “South,” but that was the case for Williamson. She plays at Minot in North Dakota and was listed on the roster for Kentucky Blue Devils in the Cincinnati area. Sometimes the phrase “floor general” is used a bit too loosely when describing point guards, but it certainly applies to Williamson. She understands how to organize an offense in a half-court set, is skilled as a passer, can connect on her attempts from long range and gives teams problems on both sides of the floor.

The program at 1A North only claimed six victories last season – four of which came against Branchville and Wagener-Salley. The addition of Parks to the program from 5A Lexington should yield better fortunes for the Eagles' 2024-25 rendition. Defensively, she approaches every play with a heads-up mentality and it enables her to take quick advantage of an opposing offense's miscues. Parks will run the floor well and fuses together ball handling and speed to finish strong at the rim. She will find spacing in the open floor and if she does so behind the 3-point line, Parks will take and make her 3-point tries.
