More than 100 prospects put their skills on display Sunday at the third annual Prep Girls Hoops Minnesota Freshman Showcase. The talented field at Hopkins High School was divided into 12 teams chosen at random by the super-secret (but less than perfect) PGH algorithm. The squads weren't exactly even, but our focus was on the individual performances rather than game outcomes or team play. We're analyzing players on a team-by-team basis. Here are the top performers from Team 12.

You have basketball players, and you have hoopers. Anderson is a hooper. As talented as a scorer she is, she's an even better playmaker. Anderson's basketball IQ is elite and if you're open, she'll get you the ball in a position to do something with it. Her ability of knowing when to look for her shot and when to involve others is top tier. She can finish with either hand and shoots the ball from the outside with the best of them. Defensively she moves her feet well often beating the offensive player to the spot and plays the passing lanes with precision. Anderson is one of the top up-and-coming point guards in the Class of 2028.

Kemper easily had one of the best showings of the day. She was aggressive from the jump and kept her foot on the gas the entire day. Scoring, playmaking, rebounding, defending was all on display. Her ability to score in traffic was effortless, hitting defenders with spin moves, step-throughs and floaters. If you relaxed and backed off, she burnt you from the outside. Quinn was a big part of the rotation at Edina last season and it's clear she's put in a ton of work to be an even bigger piece this upcoming season.

Sarah has such natural feel for the game and being able to play all over the court at her size makes her that much more special. Her ability to attack off the bounce one possession, and then come down and put someone on her back in the paint is a very nice option to have. Poepard rebounds well and can finish around the basket with either hand. Have I mentioned that she can also shoot it from beyond the arc? She brings a lot of intangibles and should fit right in at Mahtomedi this upcoming season.

Swiss Army knife, that's how I would categorize Estochen. She does a little bit of everything well. Very few players really enjoy defending, and she's one of them. If there's a loose ball in her vicinity, you better get on the floor quickly, because reaching with your hands won't be enough. Chances are, she's already on the ground securing that possession. At her size, Brooke is able to play inside/out and is a great interior passer. Estochen doesn't look to score a ton, but can when she wants to. She shoots it well from outside and handles it well enough to get to the basket. Every coach needs a player like this on their squad.

I was blown away by Miller's ability to rebound, push the ball up the court and either finish at the rim or be a distributor. Eventually the guards stopped coming back for the ball when she would began pushing it up. She can shoot it from outside, finish over the top and is a willing passer. Miller spent the majority of the day taking defenders off the dribble finishing at the rim. Defensively she just causes all kinds of problems with her length making the offensive player second guess themselves. Andover has hit the jackpot.
