More than 100 prospects put their skills on display Sunday at the third annual Prep Girls Hoops Minnesota Freshman Showcase. The talented field at Hopkins High School was divided into 12 teams chosen at random by the super-secret (but less than perfect) PGH algorithm. The squads weren't exactly even, but our focus was on the individual performances rather than game outcomes or team play. We're analyzing players on a team-by-team basis. Here are the top performers from Team 3.

Sydney delivered a virtuoso performance on Sunday, impressing our scouts with her actions both on and off the floor. On the floor, Towne is an opportunistic, aggressive, and versatile player. She does a lot of her offensive work close to the rim, whether attacking the paint on a drive or working one-on-one with her back to the basket. Towne also cleans up on the glass, consistently outworking her opponents for rebounds and loose balls. On the bench, she is a vocal cheerleader, even for the teammates she had just met. Unfortunately, the Marshall guard's day ended with an ankle injury, but she had already done more than enough to make her mark.

As a member of our 2028 Watch List, and an honorable mention in our 10 Best Prospects of Northern Minnesota, we have seen a lot of good work from the Brainerd guard over the past few years. We will reiterate what's been said several times before; Bethany is a team-first player who consistently displays a high level of poise, playmaking ability, and excellent basketball IQ. She handles and passes the ball well and is a consistent, reliable defender. Not to mention, she is a major threat from beyond the arc. Bethany is one of the hardest workers out there and will make a great collegiate player when the time comes.

With a long, wiry frame, plenty of athleticism, and a willingness to do the dirty work, the freshman from Fairmont has all the makings of an excellent lunch pail player. All throughout the day, she showed a ton of heart through the rebounds she tracked down and the loose balls she chased. Bria made it obvious that she's not afraid to play physical and consistently rooted for her team when on the sideline. Standing at 5-foot-9 with a fair bit of length, she can play multiple positions on either end of the floor. While Williamson is still quite green in the skills department, the intangibles are all there.

Hailing from Andover, Kaitlyn is coming off a strong summer with Crossfire Kuehnel where she was a consistent scorer in double figures. At the Freshman Showcase, the 5'5 guard showed off her speed and bounce on both ends of the floor. With lightning quick feet, and great lateral movement, Kharin has no problem guarding opponents step for step on the defensive end. On offense, she can attack the basket with an explosive first step or run end-to-end in the open court. We also liked Kaitlyn's movement when off the ball. She consistently kept the offense in motion, making great flashes to the basket and converting at the rim.

The 5'5 guard from Perham had a good day at the Freshman Showcase. Regan was a consistent presence on the defensive end and a 3-point shooting threat all day long. While she doesn't need much time or space to get a shot off, Hemberger was careful in her shot selection and did not pass up an open look. Her shot has textbook mechanics with a smooth, high-arcing release. She also demonstrated her ability to play multiple positions in the backcourt, both on and off the ball. Regan spent this last AAU season with [program_tooltip program_id='713021' first='West' last='Central United']'s strong 2028 team, a cohesive group that found lots of success over the summer.

Anna is an active guard who makes her presence known on the court as we've seen in summer ball with the Fury. She can definitely handle the basketball. Combined with nice mobility, that skill enables her to get past defenders one-on-one and into good scoring position from either side of the floor. Brunsberg plays with zero fear and is a good finisher. She is the sister of 2023 Southwest Christian graduate Chloe Brunsberg, a top 50 performer now competing at D3 power Hope College in Michigan. If Anna can follow in Chloe's footsteps in terms of a development timeline, her future will be very bright.
