In baseball, there is a term that is used “ the on deck circle.” This is the next person up to bat. When it comes to the 2028 class, some young ladies may have to “wait their turn,” just based on the talent in front of them. However, that's not a knock on them because the following year, they will probably be the headliners of their club.

Within the 2028 class, you have a lot of girls who are waiting in the wings. They get to come in, get some reps, learn from some vets, and get a feel for the game at their own pace. It's not a bad way to go versus some people being thrown into the fire and making mistakes along the way. Either way is fine, but for some, doing it this way can be just as beneficial than being thrown out there and learning through their mistakes.

Over the course of the year, we will uncover some true gems in the 2028 class. I know this class from top to bottom has quality depth that can come in and produce at a moment's notice. A lot of girls will just stick to embracing their assignments or roles, however, come this time next year, these girls will be ready to launch.

[player_tooltip player_id='822475' first='Ariyah' last='Huffman'] (5'10/Fr./G/ Cleveland)- Will be the 6th or 7th man off the bench, this kid is a three level scoring threat who can change speeds to get the ball in the basket. Beautiful shot release, her mid-range game is on point. Knows how to utilize her length to her advantage to get to her favorite scoring spots. Defensively, she will sit down and guard, rebound, block shots, and push the rock in transition. Solid prospect who is on an upwards trajectory.

[player_tooltip player_id='822478' first='Ayzlyn' last='Stroud'] (5'5/Fr./PG/ Bradley Central)- Will see some pt, but behind some pretty good young ladies who play the point. After this year, the show will be hers to run. A heady basketball player who is selfless and possesses great handles. Has the ability to score on multiple levels, but feeding her teammates is what she does best. This kid loves to compete and when the lights come on, she gets after it. She has shown tremendous growth over the last year, look for her to continue to add to her already solid foundation and become one of Bradley's next showtime runners. Solid prospect who is on the rise.

[player_tooltip player_id='1155014' first='Tempo' last='Haun'] (6'0/Fr./F/ Ensworth)- Versatile kid who can play on the perimeter or around the paint. She can shoot it from the arc, but playing inside is where she is best. She can handle the ball in transition, bringing it up the floor taking advantage of the mismatch. She rebounds, blocks shots, and just contributes in every aspect of the game. As she gains even more confidence, look for her to breakthrough and be tough to handle. A solid two-way player who is on the upwards trend.

[player_tooltip player_id='1239176' first='Kinlee' last='Stutts'] (5'9/Fr./F/ Loretto)- Multi talented kid who competes her tail off. Offensively, she can score it from multiple spots on the floor. She can stretch the floor and knock down the 3, or be utilized in the screen game where she rolls or pops effectively and finishes. Has a nice mid-range game and finishes around the rim through contact. Defensively, she is on the boards. Eliminating second chance opportunities as well as blocking shots. Her game continues to grow and is someone exciting to watch. Solid prospect who will be looking to carve out some playing time sooner rather than later.

[player_tooltip player_id='1155080' first='Maren' last='Brasel'] (5'6/Fr./PG/ Brentwood)- Will definitely be waiting her turn this year behind [player_tooltip player_id='409017' first='Ella' last='Ryan'], but that's not a bad thing. She is a heady basketball player who can score the rock, run an offense efficiently, hit teammates on time, defend, ect. She is an all-around player who just gets after it. Doesn't matter the place or time of day, she is going to step up and challenge whoever is in front of her. I love her ability to create for herself. This skill has grown over the years and her confidence in her shooting ability has taken off. If you leave her open on the perimeter, you will pay for it. Look for her to get some time, but Brentwood most surely is getting a gem in this young lady.
