We're nearing the end of coverage from the PGH Freshman Showcase that tipped off a week ago today. Today, we'll look at everyone from Team Eight and the notes I had on them.

Another kid whose name may pop up a fair few times in the Southeast Conference is [player_tooltip player_id='855044' first='Jordyn' last='Allen']. We've highlighted a few Franklin kids this past week, and Allen is a part of the new wave of Sabers basketball. She used a solid hesitation dribble to get downhill and put pressure on the basket. I loved her toughness around the rim and her willingness to play through contact. She's also an unselfish kid, which fits into the style that the Sabers' newcomers all have coming into high school.

[player_tooltip player_id='892249' first='Morgan' last='Mocadlo']

I knew of Mocadlo heading into the event, so with her, I wasn't necessarily surprised by anything she did. I was impressed because she was better than I had previously thought. Mocadlo was quicker than I expected and had a crisper change of direction with the ball than I remembered her having back in May. She shot the ball well each time I saw her play and was confident enough to shoot whenever she was open. Mocadlo never backed down from kids with significant size around the rim and finished well around post players around the rim.

[player_tooltip player_id='992509' first='Marli' last='Frank']

It's rare to see Oak Creek and Franklin kids on the same team together, but that's what got with [player_tooltip player_id='992509' first='Marli' last='Frank'] and [player_tooltip player_id='855044' first='Jordyn' last='Allen']. Frank did most of her work away from the ball and found open space by continuously moving. Kids who can play away from the ball, especially younger kids, tend to find more ways to help their team win than by getting coaching stats. She was a fundamentally sound guard with a role and starred in that role. Kids like her are the ones I note down and wait to see how they develop over their four years.

[player_tooltip player_id='992506' first='Macey' last='Burling']

Every Germantown kid seems like they can run forever. I thought Burling read the game well and didn't try to do too much. The Warhawk stayed within herself and understood the players she was playing with, so she never seemed like the Germantown native felt the need to do something out-of-this-world impressive, and she didn't. Steady players like her are the ones coaches like. She can play through pressure and doesn't make many mistakes. We'll see what her future holds, but if she can be a reliable guard, there's a place for her at Germantown at some point in the next few years.
