The first girls' basketball event of the spring/summer, or at least I think it is, is this coming weekend in New Berlin. A plethora of talent from around the state is descending into Waukesha County and putting on a display for everyone in attendance. Tonight, we will look at a handful of players, particularly in the 17U age bracket, for regional schools to see this coming weekend.

The Southeast Wisconsin native had a solid season at Catholic Central this past winter. I watched her play a mid-week game and was impressed by her poise on the offensive end. She can shoot the ball well from the perimeter and takes what the defense gives her. She may not be a player who jumps off the screen if you were to watch her on stream, but I was pleasantly surprised by how skilled and confident she is on the floor.

The Jefferson guard was among the best in creating live-ball turnovers in small-school basketball. Warborg is a competitive player who can pressure the ball at the point of attack and make opposing ball handlers uncomfortable whenever she wants. However, I'm eager to see her on the offensive ends. She had her moments on that end of the floor and showed she could create off the dribble, but in a setting with more talent around her, I'm curious if she may be more efficent than I expect.

[player_tooltip player_id='1230665' first='Alissa' last='Ebel']

The Neenah wing is a rangey player who can make some plays off the dribble when she catches the ball on the weak side of the floor. She is also a versatile defender who can move her feet on the perimeter and use her length to make plays around the basket and defend post players when needed. Ebel is a player who has had her moments within a talented Neenah program, and she could impress some regional schools if they make time to see her play.

The Baraboo native doesn't play at the most prominent program in the Madison area, and as a result, can fly under the radar. However, Sperl is an intriguing guard who has proven she can make plays off the dribble and has a little bit of creativity when she gets around the basket. She can handle the ball, make the right reads, knock down open jumpers, and get to the basket. She is more than capable of playing at the next level.
