Today is the final day of recapping the PGH Freshman Showcase that took place a week and a half ago. Today, we wrap things up by discussing Team Ten and the notes I had on the kids on that team.

[player_tooltip player_id='874384' first='Keira' last='Van Wie']

A name that I've known well for the past few months has been the Waunakee wing. Van Wie had been more of a post presence for her [program_tooltip program_id='712778' first='Purple' last='Aces'] 15U team, and she got to show some of her perimeter skills in Appleton. She handled the ball well on the perimeter, attacked the basket, and continued to impress on the defensive end of the floor. Her length will create issues for opposing offenses in the Badger-Large for the next four seasons. I loved what she brought to the floor.

[player_tooltip player_id='991304' first='Bryelle' last='Hollander']

The Randolph wing turned the corner and attacked the basket. Once she gets the corner and puts pressure on the basket, she does an excellent job reading defenses quickly. Hollander is a willing passer and can find open teammates all over the floor. The Rockets' guard is also a physical kid. I loved her willingness to attack the basket and take contact to get to the free-throw line. There is room for her to grow, but she'll be effective at Randolph.

[player_tooltip player_id='992496' first='Jadyn' last='Mataczynski']

Yet another addition to a talented young Hudson group, Mataczynski showed well in Appleton. She's a lead guard by trade, but impressed with her IQ away from the ball by constantly moving into open space and keeping her defender focused on what she was doing. The Raider had a quick first step and found ways to get point-blank shots around the basket all day. The lefty also had a solid floater game, which showed different ways she could finish around the basket.

[player_tooltip player_id='992491' first='Elliana' last='Krueger']

A program that routinely produces talented kids is Kimberly. Krueger isn't one of the most heralded kids they've developed, which is insane because Krueger could start at a non-insignificant amount of programs in the state. As a guard, she was all over the place, rebounded well, finished well in traffic, and played hard from start to finish. What she does will eventually earn her minutes at Kimberly, which may take a while. However, the grit in her game will allow her minutes on the floor at some point in her career at Kimberly Krueger will have to earn it, which is the sign of a program competing at the highest level of high school basketball in Wisconsin. Remember her name. The Papermaker could win them a few games with her tenacity.

[player_tooltip player_id='991141' first='Keira' last='Bailey']

A name I didn't know until I learned it by happenstance going to a Hartford open gym. The 6'1 post was impressive in her 5v5 game in Appleton. Bailey was among the standout post-kids at the event. The Oriole wasn't afraid to put the ball on the floor and attack off the dribble at times and used her length to rebound over the top of opposing players. She rebounded well in traffic and finished around the basket in traffic after rebounding on the offensive end of the floor.
