TN's Best of the Best: '26 Guards (Part 2)

Jarrett put up a nice season for a very good Brentwood team as a sophomore. She averaged 8 points, 4 rebounds, 2 steals and 2.5 assists a game. Jarrett has a fantastic mix of length and athleticism that she puts to good use.  She's got a really nice skill set offensively, and this has allowed her to star in her role at Brentwood as a "connector." She facilitates the offense, and gets everyone into their spots.     [player_tooltip player_id='519799' first='Colie' last='Thompson']'s physical attributes make her just plain different. She's got a guard's skill set in a 5'10 frame. The lefty is a knockdown shooter for CAK, and last year put up really nice numbers for one of the state's best private division teams: 11 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 different 20 point nights. Her ability to get hot and have a big night makes her special. She makes an impact on both ends as her size gives her switch-ability, and she's a really nice rebounder.     Smyth is one of those kids that just seems to make winning plays. Her stats won't jump off the screen, but when you watch her play, the effort is undeniable. Her motor is her greatest asset, and that makes her a disruptive defender. She got a nice frame with solid athleticism, and extremely active hands. She's the first on the floor for 50/50 balls. She can guard multiple positions. Offensively, she's at her best attacking the rim. She's doesn't need to score it to be impactful and plays unselfishly. Tight handles, changes speeds and directions quickly, and has really nice touch at the rim. She's a connector on offense, and plays a big-time role for Heritage.     [player_tooltip player_id='514123' first='Nori' last='Jamison'] is a "connector." She doesn't hunt stats, and instead just plays the game. She's a leader on the floor, and understands the importance of a floor general. She has a really nice grasp on offensive spacing, and where her teammates are, and should be. High IQ kid that is always looking to make the next right play. Really tight handles that operates well in tight spaces. She's developed into a nice three point shooter, and this changes the spacing on the floor for Ensworth.       Holman is a D1 level guard with big time upside. She's a defensive tone setter. She takes pride in getting into ball handlers, and contesting the easies of choices. And, that's a big time skill. Really uses her length and athleticism well. Offensively, she's always in attack mode. Holman has the unique ability to get out into open space incredibly quick, and is a menace in transition. Offensively, she's shifty with nice changes in pace. Doesn't need much room to slither past the first level of defense. Creative finisher at the rim with the big bag.     The 5'7 guard has put up really nice scoring numbers for Lenoir City over the past two years. She lefty has really developed as a shooter, and knows how to create space to get her shot off. Really bouncy ball handler that examines picks her spots well. Nice foot work when she gets to the rim. Can score off 1 or 2 feet. Strong frame. Most defensive gameplans vs LC are dedicated to primarily stopping her. Competes on both ends. Big upside and continues to get better.
