Sometimes you can just feel it coming – the long-awaited breakthrough that elite prospects often achieve by the time they enter the 11th grade. That's certainly what we've seen over the past few months from 2026 standouts [player_tooltip player_id='344333' first='Cail' last='Jahnke'] and [player_tooltip player_id='351665' first='Vienna' last='Murray'], first in the stretch run of the high school season and then throughout a summer of AAU action. Thus we could not wait any longer to reshuffle the deck at the top end of Minnesota's junior class. This news leads the way today as we update the Prep Girls Hoops Class of 2026 rankings and bring you our standout stock risers.

RESHUFFLING AT THE TOP

It can take some time for fast-growing prospects to adapt to their taller, longer bodies when the inches have been added in quick succession. Like many lanky players in the past, that was the case for Jahnke. But last winter, Cail came into her own with St. Michael-Albertville and delivered on a very large dose of potential. It was more of the same for the 6'2+ talent during the AAU season with [program_tooltip program_id='712722' first='North' last='Tartan'].

For Murray, it's difficult to even delineate what's changed because the East Ridge shooting guard has improved in pretty much every area. Perhaps it was a case of right place, right time because her performance with [program_tooltip program_id='712687' first='Minnesota' last='Fury'] on the UAA Circuit was special. The offers started to roll in mid-summer, an avalanche of collegiate opportunities that is a who's who of college basketball. She also earned recognition as the 2026 AAU Breakout Player of the Year. As a result, Jahnke moves up from #5 to #3. Murray rises from #7 to #4. [player_tooltip player_id='252381' first='Maddyn' last='Greenway'] of Providence Academy and [player_tooltip player_id='205310' first='Tori' last='Oehrlein'] of Crosby-Ironton continue to occupy positions #1a and #1b.

There's one more change at the north end of the list that is definitely worthy of attention. That would be the 9-position rise of [player_tooltip player_id='515673' first='Brielle' last='Janssen'] as the lengthy forward from MACCRAY jumps up from #23 to #14. The steep rise wasn't fueled so much by improved play, although Brielle has certainly refined her game. It was because Janssen has decided to move her focus more toward basketball and less on volleyball. Upon that decision she immediately became a solid mid-major D1 prospect.

MOVERS IN THE TOP 50

#26 [player_tooltip player_id='589276' first='Taleigha' last='Bigler'] – The crafty guard from Marshall has grown taller in recent months and her game has continued to expand. Taleigha went from being known as the “other point guard” in the [program_tooltip program_id='712699' first='Minnesota' last='Rise'] backcourt to a player who is receiving legit D1 interest. Bigler rises 8 positions.

#36 [player_tooltip player_id='498662' first='Jadyn' last='Kor'] – The big guard from Pipestone did it all this summer on behalf of Sanford Sports out of Sioux Falls. By appearing in more tournaments in the Twin Cities, Kor also raised her profile in Minnesota a fair bit. Once more coaches saw her play, Kor's reputation soared. A year ago she was 75th. Now she's #36.

#37 [player_tooltip player_id='589275' first='Sophia' last='Anderson'] – The lengthy guard from Maple Grove had an unbelievable summer, putting her stamp all over the AAU season on behalf of [program_tooltip program_id='714566' first='Minnesota' last='Stars'] Nilsen. We've been waving the flag for Sophia for a couple of years but now it has all come together and college coaches are calling. Anderson makes a giant leap of 18 positions.

#38 [player_tooltip player_id='502604' first='Kaia' last='Anderson'] – While one Anderson (Sophia) was making a big old splash this summer, the other Anderson (Kaia) continued to do what she does best – shoot the heck out of the basketball and evolve one step at a time into a versatile workhorse. Pictured above, the 5'11 guard from Perham was recently named a Top 10 prospect in West Central Minnesota. Now, after an 8-place improvement, she's also a Top 40 junior.

#43 [player_tooltip player_id='676690' first='Abby' last='Ruda'] – The lengthy forward from Monticello is a testament to the value of continual hard work on the road to college basketball. Abby's potential has always been there. This summer that morphed into big-time production on behalf of the [program_tooltip program_id='712700' first='Minnesota' last='Suns']. As a result, Abby moves up 7 more places to #43.

#46 [player_tooltip player_id='502543' first='Lauren' last='Beyer'] – Sometimes a player's on-court performance makes it obvious that they deserve a bump in the rankings. Sometimes their true value becomes more evident in absentia. That's what happened with Lauren, who was injured this summer making it obvious just how much she contributes. Lauren is sneaky great and now she's up 6 and into the Top 50.

#47 [player_tooltip player_id='502600' first='Jayda' last='Wilson'] – Speaking of sneaky, we bring you one of the true sleepers in Minnesota's Class of 2026. The big guard from Eastview isn't exactly a household name, but the work Wilson has done over on the Prep Girls Hoops Circuit with [program_tooltip program_id='713420' first='Minnesota' last='Diamond Elite'] speaks for itself. One year ago, Jayda was our biggest stock riser, going from #99 to #57. Now she's in the Top 50.

Others prospects in the top 50 who moved up include #17 [player_tooltip player_id='515676' first='Samantha' last='Voll'] of Monticello, #21 [player_tooltip player_id='478363' first='Maddy' last='Blaylark'] of DeLaSalle, #23 [player_tooltip player_id='478373' first='Chloe' last='Carlson'] of Proctor, #25 [player_tooltip player_id='502561' first='Marta' last='Forsline'] of Mesabi East, and #34 [player_tooltip player_id='515688' first='Lexie' last='Mathews'] of Eastview.

BIGGEST RISERS IN THE TOP 100

+60 [player_tooltip player_id='773399' first='Annika' last='Dunrud'] – Pictured above, the lengthy talent from New York Mills make the biggest jump of all this time around, soaring from #120 to #60 in the 2026 rankings. We wrote about Dunrud's situation at length last month in our coverage of the PGH Expo where Annika was outstanding. Let me give you the short version: We blew it. The 6-footer is a scholarship level prospect and now her ranking reflects that.

+59 [player_tooltip player_id='927228' first='Amaya' last='Pahl'] – Every time we watched the [program_tooltip program_id='712700' first='Minnesota' last='Suns'] top 2026 team over the course of the AAU season, we found ourselves paying more attention to the big forward from Lakeville South. She is far from a finished product, but our assessment of her potential has definitely evolved. At the PGH Expo Amaya showed she has big potential to go along with her big personality. She rises 59 spots to #90.

+57 [player_tooltip player_id='894002' first='Jayden' last='Sonnenberg'] – When we last updated the 2026 rankings in June, we added the athletic guard from Frazee to the list at #108. We immediately regretted that decision, not because the ranking hadn't been earned but because we didn't put her high enough. Fast forward to now and we've convinced Sonnenberg is the real deal worthy of the D1 offer she holds. Jayden moves up 57 places to #51.

+47 [player_tooltip player_id='927227' first='Cairin' last='Berger'] – Last winter at Esko, the sweet shooter doubled her point production to 14 points per game along with 3 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals. This summer she played with a lot of confdience and learned to use her length and strength as a defensive weapon. Now Cairin moves to Duluth Marshall where she'll ride shotgun for [player_tooltip player_id='433933' first='Chloe' last='Johnson'] and reap the rewards. Cairin is ranked #71.

+42 [player_tooltip player_id='653851' first='Ella' last='Knutson'] – At the Class A level, it appears there is nothing that Knutson cannot do with averages of 19 points and 9 rebounds per game. She is strong and athletic, plays the game with pace, shoots the three very well, and attacks the basket with skill and ferocity. This summer we saw her deliver against stronger competition. We hear Ella is a talented pianist. She certainly makes sweet music on the court. Knutson moves up to #89.

+36 [player_tooltip player_id='717668' first='Evelyn' last='Miller'] – I'm not sure what's in the cellars of all those genteel manors out in Orono, but you can be sure it's of the highest quality. Miller is certainly aging like fine wine. The big post has grown her game substantially and this summer it all came together in a big way. She's a strong rebounder and shot blocker, has nice footwork in the low post, and scores consistently at the rim. Miller rises 36 places to #58.

+25 [player_tooltip player_id='736173' first='Carly' last='Olson'] – The 5'9 workhorse from Farmington isn't necessarily the first player you notice on the court when you watch her team play. By the end of the contest, however, it becomes obvious that Olson has put her fingerprints all over the game. She is a productive scorer, high-intensity rebounder, excellent distributor and defends with energy and skill. Carly rises 25 positions to #87.

MORE DOUBLE-DIGIT STOCK RISERS

#109 [player_tooltip player_id='782560' first='Lauren' last='Grimm'] – Pictured above, the crafty point guard from Watertown-Mayer has improved a ton over the past few months and is playing with poise and confidence. She's also an elite shooter. Lauren rises 38 places to #109.

#115 [player_tooltip player_id='772238' first='Kaylin' last='Green'] – The clever guard from Coon Rapids is one of our favorite players to watch. The waterbug competitor is go, go, go from start to finish. She was great at the Expo and earned a 19-place jump to #115.

#116 [player_tooltip player_id='593516' first='Kenna' last='Henning'] – The super-skilled shooter from Heritage Christian Academy has built a reputation with her sweet stroke. Kenna showed at the Expo that there is so much more she brings to the table. She's up 19 places to #116.

#80 [player_tooltip player_id='889762' first='Savannah' last='Sullivan'] – The lengthy guard from Rothsay in Western Minnesota doesn't get a lot of time in the limelight given that she plays in low-profile teams in high school and AAU. She shone brightly this summer, though, and is up 12 to #80.

OTHER NOTABLE JUMPS

#56 [player_tooltip player_id='502550' first='Mia' last='Banks'] – The versatile guard from Rochester Mayo continues to get better, moving up 7 positions to #56.

#59 [player_tooltip player_id='773408' first='Lily' last='Hubin'] – The talented guard from Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart is a player on the rise. She improves by 5 to #59.

#65 [player_tooltip player_id='502563' first='Lauren' last='Hust'] – The gifted scorer from Rochester Lourdes keeps trending upward, moving north by 6 places to #65.

#75 [player_tooltip player_id='502547' first='Hope' last='Stark'] – The driven competitor from Alexandria showed out at the PGH Expo demonstrating her long-term value very clearly. Hope rises 8 places to #75.

#86 [player_tooltip player_id='502534' first='Riley' last='Wilson'] – The crafty guard often gets overlooked playing in the backcourt with [player_tooltip player_id='339175' first='Brooklyn' last='Lewis'] at New Ulm, but her contributions are definitely worth of note. Riley moves up 5 to #86.

#141 [player_tooltip player_id='927235' first='Lexi' last='Lamppa'] – The gritty guard from the Iron Range has helped Rock Ridge quickly establish itself as a factor in Class 3A. Lexi moves up 9 to #141.
