Tuesday, September 17th I attended the West Coast Elite Fall League mixed in with girls and boys teams. I watched two of the top prep teams locally battle it out on the main floor at the Phhacility in Phx.AZ.

Here were the standouts

[player_tooltip player_id='791167' first='Kamya' last='Young'] [program_tooltip program_id='713512' first='AZ' last='Compass']

My first look ever at the athletic guard and I came away impressed. She is a great defender and will collect steals in bunches with her quick hands and feet. She is then very fast in the open court and you see her speed on display with or without the ball. She takes long strides to the basket and can pull-up from deep and shoot it.

[player_tooltip player_id='864721' first='Jailyn' last='Williams'] [program_tooltip program_id='713512' first='AZ' last='Compass']

A very quick lefty point guard leads the team in stretches. She handles the heavy ball pressure and scores. She loves using floaters and runners plus will pull-up from mid-range. She plays with toughness and grit.

[player_tooltip player_id='1000382' first='Sameria' last='Taylor'] [program_tooltip program_id='713512' first='AZ' last='Compass']

A shooting guard will catch and shoot from the three point line and rattle in threes. She has a quick release with deep range. She runs the floor well and will score layups in transition. She is always in motion and staying shot ready. She also will defend her position well.

[player_tooltip player_id='593658' first='Ivona' last='Djikanovic'] [program_tooltip program_id='713512' first='AZ' last='Compass']

Their top performer on the night belonged to Ivona. She is a true point forward trying to make plays for her teammates. She works well at the high post and can rip thru and use the floater, blow by on the baseline, hit the catch three but then drive and kick it with advanced court vision per position.

[player_tooltip player_id='588386' first='Caia' last='Campbell'] Phhoenix Prep

A top end guard with a real feel, strength and IQ for the game. She can shoot it from the perimeter, reads the floor well and will get to the basket. She understands how to changes speeds and hesitate to get downhill. She will often ball fake into her lefty floater in the lane and takes contact unusually well.

[player_tooltip player_id='997529' first='Lisa' last='Sirgi'] Phhoenix Prep

The biggest player on the court was definitely Lisa. She scores with offensive rebound put backs, layups and even will step out and shoot the three with some consistency. She makes her money with controlling the paint, blocking shots but actually moves really well in space.

[player_tooltip player_id='588763' first='Dylan' last='Swindle'] Phhoenix Prep

A top guard in the senior class made the move to PHH. She is a sturdy framed guard who will comfortably play either guard spot since she plays at a good pace but shoots it so well. She has a quick release and comes with college range. She is physical on the ball defensively and will collect steals and then dime a teammate.

[player_tooltip player_id='558895' first='Heather' last='Stedman'] Phhoenix Prep

A bigger sized slashing combo guard uses her height to her advantage to get to the basket and easily finish with some contact. She will cash in her free throws with a nice stroke and is a mid-range pull-up queen with a picture perfect stroke.

[player_tooltip player_id='997523' first='Emilie' last='Norregaard-Laursen'] Phhoenix Prep

A new player for me has elite size for guard and a pure stroke from the three point line. She runs the floor for layups, she is a good passer and can take the ball off the glass and go coast to coast.

[player_tooltip player_id='772667' first='Ayla' last='Keefe'] Phhoenix Prep (Pictured)

A tall wing forward is very versatile. She does a little bit of everything. She has a good feel to make a play and sees it quickly and will take it strong to the basket to score. She will also defend multiple positions and rebound plus block shots in her area.
