Players like Koch, who make plays and affect games without scoring, win teams' close games. The Beloit native flies around the defensive end and her competitiveness and grit allow her to guard more physical players because she won't back down from anyone. Koch has a knack for finding the ball in the Purple Knights' press and makes what they do in that aspect of the game work on her own. Her energy is contagious, and when she forces turnovers, Beloit Memorial can attack in transition with numbers.

The Menasha guard/wing was physically ready for the varsity level the second she stepped on campus. I thought she did an excellent job making plays on the defensive end of the floor for the Bluejays and showed some flashes on the offensive end of the floor. Bilke was willing to shoot from beyond the three-point line, with varying success, but showed the physicality to attack the defense and power through contact around the rim. Bilke is a solid multi-sport athlete and has shown how productive she can be. I loved her instant impact at Menasha.

As the go-to option for the Comet offense, Olson did an excellent job making timely shots and helping Cameron win 20 games last season. She was a little streaky in her first season but showed she was comfortable with the volume of shots she took. As she matures and learns where to get her shots, she'll naturally become more efficient. Anytime a kid is a 14 or 15-year-old and leads a team in scoring, and their team has a 20-win season, you have to take some notice. Olson has a solid trajectory heading into her next three seasons at Cameron.

I don't expect Grudzielanek to be a leading scorer for Wisconsin Lutheran this season, but she'll be hard to take off the floor. The 5'7 guard is the perfect connector for a team with perimeter talent. The Viking doesn't need the ball to excel but can make quick decisions with the ball and make pinpoint passes when called upon. She's a physical kid who can defend on the other end with enough lateral quickness to defend on the perimeter and physicality to defend posts if her coach needs someone down there.'
