A couple of weeks ago, we released the updated rankings for the Class of 2026. With 185 players now either ranked in our Top 75 or a part of our 110-person watch list in 2026, I wanted to take the time to highlight a few girls from each position group. Below is a look at the small forwards and the 49 ladies included in this specific group, followed by some analysis on a handful of those prospects.

Miley had a really nice Spring on the grassroots circuit, but it came to an unfortunate abrupt end over the Summer, as she injured her knee. She is an extremely long, wiry-strong, and versatile forward. She is a really nice athlete with some bounce, plus she gets up and down the floor with ease. She has touch outside, a solid handle, and the potential to be a true wing long-term. Defensively, she could stand to play a little lower, plus at 6-1, I could see some coaches using her inside quite a bit. She can be a perimeter mismatch, though.

Emily is a prospect who had a high skill level coming into high school, and she has consistently produced through two seasons. She has a solid to strong frame, she's versatile, and she plays with a really nice motor. Emily can handle the ball in transition and initiate the offense like a point forward. She has some touch outside like a guard/wing, but she is also aggressive attacking the basket North/South. She rebounds and makes a lot of hustle plays as well. If she can prove she can defend the smaller, quicker guards, it will help her recruiting.

I wasn't terribly familiar with Kalea until I saw her starting in a game for Lawrence North in June. She has a solid to strong frame, she's a balanced athlete, and she plays with a nice motor. She has some touch outside and likes to play off penetration from Wildcat teammates, as she's often hunting jump-shots. She is a solid North/South driver and making more of a commitment to that could really help her keep defenses honest. I am very curious to see what her role will be this season, but she could add shooting value.

As I pointed out in a previous article, it was good to see Macey this Summer back on the grassroots circuit healthy. She is a strong, skillful, and versatile wing who should be a problem for Edgewood opponents this Winter. She can handle it a little, drive it North/South and absorb contact, plus she's a solid perimeter shooter with a good all-around understanding of the game. She plays hard, battles for rebounds, and she can defend multiple positions. I expect Macey's recruiting to really pick up over the next 9-12 months.

Deniyah is new to the 2026 watch list, and she has the potential to draw a great deal of small college attention over the course of the next year. She is a wiry-strong athlete with nice length, North/South speed, and some bounce, plus she plays with versatility. She can knock down an open rhythm jumper, but she's much better off the bounce attacking the basket. She can create offense for herself or teammates, and she's an active rebounder. Proving she can defend smaller, quicker guards will go a long way in her recruitment.
