I probably don’t start evaluations enough this way, as measurables are what people are drawn to, but Deniyah is one of the best on-ball defenders in the 2026 class. She has regularly matched up against some of the state’s better guards and/or scorers, limiting them to minimal point totals and effectiveness. She was in a loaded backcourt at Pike, so she often differs to teammates to score, but in the open court, she can get out and run, attack the basket downhill, and she’s tough and absorbs contact well. I honestly think she could be a more effective scorer in college, because she has athletic talent.

Warren is one of the most enjoyable players to watch this season, running the point for one of the top teams in Indiana. Handling the responsibilities of a point guard is never easy, but leading a high-caliber Pike roster adds pressure—and Warren is thriving. She plays with confidence in herself and her teammates, orchestrating the offense, putting others in the right positions, and setting the tone as a floor leader.

Warren is also a scoring threat, taking what the defense gives her and stepping up in key moments. Against Big Walnut, she knocked down a clutch three from the corner in a tight stretch, showing her ability to make big plays when it matters most. Her combination of leadership, court vision, and scoring ability makes her the engine behind Pike’s success. While it’s unclear if she plans to play at the next level, any program would benefit greatly from her skills and competitive mindset.

She leads in multiple ways—setting the example with her play and consistently communicating on the floor. Warren brings contagious energy that keeps her teammates engaged and locked in, especially on the defensive end. She continues to show what it means to impact the game in ways beyond scoring, whether it’s through effort, awareness, or leadership. Her ability to influence both ends of the floor, combined with her competitive edge and desire to win, makes her one of the most exciting players to watch in the Marion County Tournament.

I’ve been watching  Deniyah Warren Deniyah Warren 5'7" | SG Pike | 2026 State IN  since last season, and what continues to stand out is her attention to the little things that make a big impact on the floor. She is unselfish, consistently making plays that elevate her teammates, and provides the energy and intensity that Pike relies on to succeed.

As a senior, stepping into a leadership role like this is not always easy, but Warren has embraced it fully. Her poise, work ethic, and ability to influence the game without always being in the spotlight are helping Pike reach new heights and setting the tone for the rest of the team.

Deniyah is new to the 2026 watch list, and she has the potential to draw a great deal of small college attention over the course of the next year. She is a wiry-strong athlete with nice length, North/South speed, and some bounce, plus she plays with versatility. She can knock down an open rhythm jumper, but she’s much better off the bounce attacking the basket. She can create offense for herself or teammates, and she’s an active rebounder. Proving she can defend smaller, quicker guards will go a long way in her recruitment.
