There is no secret formula to do this and I can't OVEREMPHASIZE that I base things on WHAT I SEE. I can't tell you how many times I've received calls or texts saying "You missed it, your girl went off and dropped 20" However the previous 4 or 5 games I watched didn't produce those numbers combined, yet one more time, rankings are a guide and "it's not what you do, it's who you do it against"

I got into it with the director of one of the grassroots organizations when my daughter was playing and when his freshman rankings came out, she was listed as #264 at the guard spot, she's been in the WNBA for over a decade yet I'm not petty nor do I have any agendas so one more time, be in front of me and show me on the court, here's a link to the EVENTS I'll be covering and here is the next group of players

#11-Wilson gave me a glimpse of what was coming as I caught her going off with her Pro Skills club team at the Super 64 see evaluation here yet at the Freshman Showcase, she went completely off from the start as she was virtually unstoppable during the "3 on 3" games. That continued throughout the event as she made the All-Showcase squad see evaluation here yet based on her being a shade under "the magic number", her skillset, and the ability to play multiple positions, on both ends of the court, her ceiling has no roof

#12-Byrd flew into the Freshman Showcase and landed leaving a lasting first impression see evaluation here Not only was she a TOP PERFORMER in both the "3 on 3" as well as the "5 on 5" she brought so many intangibles such as "long and athletic" as well as just under "the magic number" however she plays even taller and part of that is her DESIRE going after everything off the rim coupled with her UPS as well as the "you won't outwork me"mindset. She also did a good job playing the 1-3 and has a huge upside

#13-Graves was another player that I hadn't seen before yet I couldn't stop watching after she got going during the 3 on 3 and as good as she was during that, her playing the passing lane as well as handling the ball in the open court after rebounding gave me a different look at what she brings to the table see evaluation here She goes after the ball relentlessly off the rim, on both ends yet seeing her use her first step to blow by defenders and finish strongly, with either hand was very nice

#14 Byrd took me back to one of the first articles I wrote about her see evaluation here and one of the things that caught my eye was her doing things instinctively as well as how she reacted in tough situations. That poise under pressure told me a lot and her "on the court" progression over the years has been something to see. She understands how to set the defender up to either score off the dribble or drop the mid to long-range. Her court vision in the set, as well as in transition is solid, plus she can defend both in the half and full-court

#15-Ponter's game is POINTING upwards and that was solidified after watching her play UP at the Super 64 see evaluation here. Playing up has never been an issue and after chatting with her when I first met her 3 years ago, her telling me how well she performed would determine her destiny SOLD ME She's heady, stays under control, and understands how to control the tempo. Her court vision across the board was more than solid against players with next-level potential heading into their senior season as pressure was irrelevant. She scored off the dribble and showed some explosiveness attacking the basket yet her "stop and pop" jumper in transition was also nice. She did a good job defending on the ball as well in the set and baseline-to-baseline
