Memphis rapper Key Glock has a song called “Let's Go,” that's climbing up the charts. If you haven't heard of it, you're going to sometime this season in a gym near you. Why do I mention it? Cause baby, “Let's Go!” We are little less than a month away from when the roundball season begins. Just like you, I can't wait. I know we are a football state, but I will say the quality of basketball around here is definitely picking up.

Key Glock's song is catchy for real. Once you start hearing that beat, you can't do anything but bob your head to the sound. I can vision it now, kids in the lay up line, getting hyped, as they get ready to battle it out. As I am writing this, I am rubbing my hands together cause this is going to be an amazing year of women's hoops.

Look, the seniors have been doing their thing for four years now. Juniors have been on it for the past three years. The class of 27s and 28s, those girls will be the ones that will help uplift their programs over the top. These two classes are impactful, packing a powerful punch of talented kids. Look at a lot of rosters throughout the state, freshman and sophomores will be in the starting 5 or come in off the bench, playing pivotal roles early in the ball game. I've been saying it for some time now, these two classes are just built differently due to the fact a lot of girls have been sharpening their skills on that travel ball circuit. They're bringing their dynamic skill sets plus more to aid their ball clubs as they seek new heights.

Let's Go! Basketball season is just weeks away. Pretty soon the shoes will be making squeaky noises in gymnasiums. I can't wait. Check out some kids who will be making an impact from the class of 2027 and 2028. Let's go!

Our female Allen Iverson. Talk about a dynamic player who has all the skill sets plus more. A shifty guard who can score it from all three levels. Great speed and quickness, she can manipulate a defender, putting them on skates, as she knifes through defenses on her way to the hoop. This kid is a solid two-way player who is always on go mode. Colleges are coming out left and right, vying for this young lady's services. Only a freshman, she has over 10 scholarship offers from multiple power 4 schools. Talk about impressive, as an 8th grader she was a finalist for Ms. Tennessee. Look for her to bring the heat and not only propel her ballclub to new heights, but also catch new accolades along the way.

I had to think long and hard on an NBA comparison for her, but I finally came up with one. Grant Hill. Blessed with size and length, this team USA representative is super tough. She can play the wings, she can run point, she can create mismatches down low, just put it this way, she can score from all spots on the floor. Her D can be underestimated as she excels at this part of the game as well. Received over 30+ offers and will look to have even more as she starts up her sophomore season. She brings a championship pedigree to the floor and I love how she is mentally locked in throughout the whole game. This kid is a winner and everything about her screams next level. Look for her to continue on this upwards trajectory, breaking records and more along the way.

A unicorn for sure. No big in the state can do all that she can do. This kid is phenomenal on both ends of the floor. Talk about impact, this kid is that plus more. The way she can score it is very impressive, however her defensive acumen is stellar as well. I love how she can eliminate another team's best player. Recently she released her top 12 schools that included Duke, Louisville, Vanderbilt, Alabama, UNC, and UCONN. This high caliber kid is an awesome human being who is going to excel at whatever school she chooses. Super tough kid with a high ceiling.

The Webb-Bell Buckle standout is a force to be reckoned with. Strong as an ox, this kid is beastly inside the arc. Mid-range, back to the basket, face up, you name it, she's going to go at you and do so with brute force. I love her rebounding ability on both ends of the floor. Not only does she contribute in that statistical category as well, but add blocking shots and getting steals to her stat line too. This kid is a finisher. High motor kid who is racking up offers. Look for her to continue to get better and be a problem for years to come.

Big guard who is about to do big things. Her ball handling is nice, as she can break an opponent's ankles on her way to the cup. She can score the rock from multiple levels on the floor, however, it's her defense that stands out , creating extra possessions for her ball club. This kid has a high motor, active hands and feet. She's a gamer and when the lights are on, expect a darn good performance. Look for this kid to excel on the high school platform. Colleges are already taking notice of her skills. Sensational talent that is on an upwards trajectory.
