The Compound Fall League Recap: Week Two

Several new and familiar names emerged as top performers for their teams during the competition. Then she confirmed her next-level potential once the game started. Meadow chased down a breakaway to block the layup and deflected a pass defending the ball to cause a turnover. She showed her perimeter accuracy by drilling 3s from up top and the wing. She protected the rim by blocking multiple shots in the paint, stripped the ball away on defense, and muscled her way to an offensive rebound and-one off two feet. Alexandria scored several layups and was an effective finisher off screen and rolls. Her balance and high-arcing free throws found the bottom of the next. Brooklyn drove with a quick burst to score a baseline reverse layup, finished a smooth scoop layup in traffic, and beat defenders driving right for a floater at the basket. Brooklyn is a threat from 3-point range and effective passer on the move. Mattalyn has a quick burst off the dribble and her signature move was a low sweep move. She beat defenders to score a floater off two feet, knocked down a mid-range pull-up jumper off the glass, and used her sweep move to cause a foul on her drive. Jailyn secured an offensive rebound to score a reverse layup and dribbled through a crowd with her left before finishing a contested layup over a taller defender. She pressured the ball constantly on defense and wrestled for 50/50 balls on the floor. Sami used a quick spin dribble to score a layup with her left hand off two feet and found her teammate cutting backdoor for an assist. Sami stole the ball away off a deflection and put her defender in jail to score the left-handed layup off two feet.
