Uncovering Talent at the Tennessee Expo

Talent comes in all shapes and sizes. How many of you ever dreamt of being a general manager or a head coach before? Or if you are a current player, ever viewed yourself playing for a dominant team or like being on an All-Star team of some sort?&nbsp; I know you've had conversations before about if someone played on this team or if that girl played over there, what that particular team would look like. I get it. I too find myself wondering what or how I would do things if I was in position to do so. Who would I try to recruit? Who pieces would I want to help build a dominant team? At the Expo this weekend, there were many pieces I would try to get if I was in a position of authority.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Going back to the Tennessee Expo event this past weekend, I can honestly say that there was a lot of talent in the gymnasium. A diverse pot of talent at that, which one could pick and choose how to build a solid roster. Now, we all know who the top upper echelon kids were. Blessed with good size, she was displaying her scoring prowess both inside and out. She battled on both ends of the floor, making an impact along the way. When she wasn't scoring the rock even with hands in her face, she was creating chaos, making it tough for opponents to operate. This kid is solid and brought a physical presence to the game. Loved her hustle and go-get ‘em mentality. One thing I noticed is how she hunts great shot opportunities, not forcing the issue. She was poise with the ball in her hands, making the right play at the right time. She got after it on the defensive end, making opponents shoot tough shots. She brought not only scrappiness to the table, but was also very vocal, putting her teammates in position to excel. She was tough on the boards, gaining rebounds, leading to easy transitional buckets. She was dominant on the interior on both ends of the floor. Blessed with great size, this kid utilized it to her advantage. Tough finisher around the rim, putting the ball in the hole wasn't a foreign concept to her. This kid got after it and you better believe this upcoming season she is going to bring that same energy and effort that her teammates are going to feed off of. She was big-time inside, grabbing boards and taking away easy high percentage shots. Has great length that enabled her to guard on the perimeter and shutdown any driving lanes. She displayed quick hips and solid footwork that kept her opponent in front. On the offensive end, she was nice shooting the mid-range and finishing around the rim. Wayne Co. has another stud kid on their hands. Has a high basketball IQ, she knows when to exploit an opponent's weakness. This kid is a 3 level scoring threat, but commanding an offense is what she does best. She made the right play at the right time and didn't force the issue. I liked how she got after it on the defensive end as well. She not only slowed down the girl she was guarding, but contributed in other statistical categories as well.
