The season is in full swing, and the 1st game jitters are over. Girls High School Basketball in Arkansas is very exciting to see and as I continue to build my network in the area, coaches and programs have tall players that can play from 2 to 3 positions! There are so many players in Arkansas with little to no recognition and the prospects travel sometimes 1,000s of miles to an event or showcase. PGH brings these types of prospects to the forefront of recruiting and provide a solid opportunity of being noticed in their home state. Here's a look at some talented "Bigs" in the state that are earning their recognition and look to make an impact on the 24-25 basketball Season!

This Junior means business and aims to make this season one to remember. The 5'9 point guard for Lakeside has an excellent to start to that averaging 24pts a game so far. A score at will threat on offense with height and length to suit. Payton impressed me with her ability to stride to the basket and score in traffic. In transition she is basically unstoppable going left or right when she desires. She showed flashes of good defense and would be the only development. She has a good floater and is very shifty for her size. This student athlete is a floor leader that can pass behind the back in transition. Remember the name [player_tooltip player_id='876275' first='Payton' last='Futch'] in 24-25!

"Freshman year fixing to be lit!" Kenady quoted, and so far, she's backing those words up. Towering at 5'11 this 4-position player has a great touch around the rim to 11ft. Kenady immediately took off this year going for 21pts, 11rebs, and a block versus Centerpoint in their season opener and wants more on her plate! She can dribble very well, and it allows the forward/guard to create off of it. Her spin move seems to be her "go to" and she will catch defenders with it if not careful. Barrett absorbs contact and has a good basketball IQ. She can cut off the ball very well causing problems for defenses. Keep a look out for this one.

Probably the hardest working player on the list, Morgan is a dedicated student athlete. 6AM workouts before scheduled morning practice are incredibly difficult to maintain. From weights to shooting, this work ethic is what separates players that are good and those that seek greatness. "Quality over quantity" and Morgan lives like that old saying. Playing club ball for the [program_tooltip program_id='712392' first='Banshees' last=''], the freshman prodigy showed poise and confidence on the court. She has an IQ on the next level and her passing ability compliments that statement. Morgan makes 300 3s a day and then does all 300 off the dribble! Crazy work ethic that will be exciting to see on the floor for Northside. She had an unofficial visit to K State earlier in the month and will have plenty of more Colleges lining up.

Coach Ronald Rogers earned his 200th win at LRCA last season and will have more wins with junior Whitley. Rogers runs the floor like a gazelle and gets to her position very well. Can hit deep 3s at the buzzer or get a block and sprint the floor for an and one. Rogers has paid her dues and Geogia Tech, Memphis, and MTSU have her in their sights. Her sizable wingspan and quick feet allow her to guard smaller positions. She has excellent fundamentals and often uses her strength in those situations. The small forward has soft hands around the basket and manages her touch well. She can shoot off the dribble from anywhere on the court. Dropping 35pts last season vs. Rogers is impressive and will leave you looking for more repeat performances like that from this student athlete.

The best player on this list is the 5'11 [player_tooltip player_id='877661' first='Rylee' last='Wilburn'] of Rector. A product of Heather Healey at [program_tooltip program_id='712401' first='Arkansas' last='Sting'], Wilburn is a gem amongst her peers. She plays like a guard but can guard all 5 spots on the court! I really enjoyed watching film on this super sophomore and 24-25 will be fantastic. Rylee dribbles like a guard and her overhand cross is natural. Wilburn loves to shoot 3's too! She has great change of pace and excellent court vision. Rylee's the best passing "Big" in the state and that's a lot to say. #52 delivered pocket passes and scoop passes like the pros and that's only going to get better. This student athlete has a flash and a strong sense of confidence in herself, and it shows on the court. In the season opener win over Rivercrest (56-55), she had 14pts, 16rebs, 3assts, and 2stls. Wilburn tallied in 25pts, 17rebs, and 6assts vs. Truman on the 18th of November and 20pts/7rebs the other night vs. Piggott in conference play. Overall, this talented tall guard can do it all and be on the lookout for this one!
