Barrett started the game on fire from three, then gradually added more buckets. Fundamentally sound driver, plays smooth and in control on drives. Capable of stopping and popping in the 8-15 foot range for pull ups. Or playing strong and off of two feet around the rim. There’s few things she can’t do on the offensive end, and brings a well polished approach to both ends of the court.

. Just a couple of days ago, she received a D1 offer from Murray State, and that is just the beginning.
Barrett is a dynamic scorer who can get buckets any way she pleases. Whether she is called to create her shot from beyond the arc or from the mid-range area, she can get it done with ease. Her handle can also get her into space, where she has the ability to finish inside.

is quickly becoming a superstar in this state, and she is far from finished. Murray State was her most recent offer after offers from Louisiana Tech, UCA, and Tulsa. The Division I calls will keep piling up, so stay tuned for Poyen’s go-to star.

After watching Barrett this past weekend in Oklahoma, it’s no shock to see her as one of the more well regarded prospects in Arkansas. She’s smooth and always looked in control. Gets skinny to slip through traps, then quickly stops and scores with great balance and fundamentals. Her combination of height, athleticism and skills make the college level upside obvious.

was the highest riser in the 2028 rankings, moving up from #11 to #3. It was an easy decision after her phenomenal freshman season. She was all-conference, all-state, and all-tournament this season and she can do that again as a sophomore.
One of Barrett’s premiere performances this season was against Bigelow in the state tournament, posting 33 points with 18 coming in the first half and 10 in the second quarter alone. In a 3-game stretch during the regular season, Barrett averaged 28 points per contest. In late January, she was averaging 22 points, 11 rebounds, 3 steals, and 2.5 blocks per game.
Barrett has shown that she is a lethal multi-level scorer. She is a fantastic 3-point shooter who is unstoppable off the dribble. She can also step inside the arch and hit some mid-range jumpers. If a lane to the basket opens up, Barrett will not hesitate to exploit it and get inside with her solid handles. She can also make great plays on the defensive end, jumping passing lanes and scoring in transition. Barrett is also a shot-blocking threat, so opposing scorers must watch when she slides over on help defense.

. The freshman has had some incredible performances this season and I think there is a good chance that she jumped up a couple spots in the 2028 ranking.
Towards the tail-end of January, Poyen was averaging 28 points per game. Since then, she has compiled multiple 30-point games as well as a 40-point performance. Barrett has quickly become the talk of the state, single-handedly making Poyen a title contender.
There is not much Barrett cannot do on the court. She can shoot from outside and inside. She can pass, rebound, handle the ball, and defend. It does not matter if Barrett has too much space or not enough, she will find a way to score.

will definitely be moving up in the ranking soon. She has emerged as one of Poyen’s best players, and she is definitely one of the best players in the 2A classification.
Barrett has scored at least 20 points in her last two games coming into tonight’s matchup against Malvern. She had 20 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 assists versus De Queen on the 16th, and then 24 points, 4 rebounds, and 5 steals the next night against Parkers Chapel. Barrett’s scoring comes from both inside and outside. She has a nice 3-point shot and once she spots up behind the arch, she does not care about an incoming defender, she is launching the shot. She can also step in and knock down jumpers from inside the arch. A lot of Barrett’s inside scoring comes from her defensive play.
That 5-steal game against Parkers Chapel was a great defensive showing for Barrett, and several of those steals resulted in transition points. She had great anticipation on the opposition’s passes, taking them away and finishing at the other end. Barrett is a solid finisher, but she is also a good rebounder.
Barrett’s performance against Conway Christian earlier this month was not something to ignore. The 5’11” guard pulled down 16 rebounds, put up 21 points, and recorded 3 assists, 1 steal and 5 blocks. She aggressively crashes the glass, immediately starting the fastbreak once she has control of the board.

is one of the best small-school guards in the state, and she is incredibly underrated. Keep up with this young star during the rest of her first varsity season.

“Freshman year fixing to be lit!” Kenady quoted, and so far, she’s backing those words up. Towering at 5’11 this 4-position player has a great touch around the rim to 11ft. Kenady immediately took off this year going for 21pts, 11rebs, and a block versus Centerpoint in their season opener and wants more on her plate! She can dribble very well, and it allows the forward/guard to create off of it. Her spin move seems to be her “go to” and she will catch defenders with it if not careful. Barrett absorbs contact and has a good basketball IQ. She can cut off the ball very well causing problems for defenses. Keep a look out for this one.
